I always try to interact with a kind word and smile when I go out and about and I appreciate it when I receive the same. It can really brighten someones day and lift their spirit.

We had a great FedEx driver at my folk's ranchette in Texas. He was always bubbly and never just left the package on the doorstep since Mom was elderly and sometimes couldn't lift it. He'd pet Missy on the way in and Mom would open the door and he'd ask her how she was doing this fine day and place the package on the utility table she has in the breezeway.

He always had a smile and cheer for everyone in the area and we looked forward to his coming. We aren't sure what happened to him, but about a year later, this grumpy old man started delivering the packages and didn't so much as greet my Mom. She's there alone a lot of the time and she really looked forward to that few seconds of joy when she got a package. 25 seconds can mean all the difference.

In very micro doses, you can provide good/calm/loving energy to others. I notice since I make a habit of it - people are so nice to me in general. I guess it's just practice kindness.

So easy to forget in this upside down world when we are so busy and distracted with “other things,” many of them negative. Particularly in our specific sphere of constant discernment. Weeding through the bullshit in search of truth.

That said, I found myself becoming increasingly irritable and self centered over the past year or so as a result and made a conscious decision that I would put all of this concern, doubt and pain on God and get back to who I used to be (always was) before this period. I could go into pages of detail on what I did and what impact it has had on me over the last several months, but the above vid really sums it up.

Not only did I start loving others again, but loving myself as well (even with all of my faults) as I know God does. All I can say is that DECISION has had a profound impact on my day to day life and outlook. Very liberating and all it took was a personal decision to change along with a few requests for help from God. He heard me I think…

Maybe because once in a while everyone needs a little encouragement. So why you got to be a wet blanket? Is there a good reason to jump on a positive message and make a cynical Debbie downer post about it? I honestly am not trying to be mean or negative. I just don’t understand it when people are so upset by a little bit of encouragement.

I hope this man took 25 seconds to let Robert's family know how much he meant to them.

A little kindness goes a long way in this world right now.

My gosh! I just read through this thread. It is absolutely crazy how many people couldn’t just take a little joy and a happy story. It’s just a story of a reminder that we can all make somebody’s day a little better and it doesn’t take a lot of time. The video wasn’t about black versus white, he mentioned that so that others would know that a real person is a real person and color is not the issue.

We need more happy people who spread bits of joy. The outright negativity about some thing as this simple story is very scary.

Reminded me of the sweetest, happiest human I ever met. He cleaned the toilets for a janitorial service. Always had a big smile, remembered your name and had something nice to say about everybody. Looked like Louis Armstrong.

Right on! I agree, it is hard for me to understand why some are so compelled to comment negatively to a positive story.

Sometimes I think there is a virus in people and it's not covid!

I rarely post anymore and spend less time here because every single thread has these issues and its soul killing to see all the hate. I don't mind difference of opinion or discussions but the hatefulness in some people creeps me out!
