Seems like half my neighborhood owns a Pitbull.


One broke through my backyard fence and chased my little dog around the yard several times until I finally got the glass door open and got her inside...

The neighbor who owns it wouldn't help pay for repairs to my fence, and claimed the dog just wanted to play with my dog.

It wasn't trying to play, it wanted to eat my dog.

I can't even walk my dog in my neighborhood. 2 times Pitbull's have come running out of houses trying to get her.

Just a few days ago as we were walking her, a man came out of his house and his Pitbull ran out behind him and tried to attack my dog. I had to pick her up to keep her safe.

I was very concerned because of the way it was growling that it was going to attack me. The owner came running toward us and got the dog under control. He told me his dog had never done anything like that before.

Another neighbor has a Pitbull that actually ran at me in my garage. I talked to her nicely, and that seemed to help but these dogs are scary and many times they attack for no reason at all.

That poor man.

Sixteen years ago in April, I was cycling in Northeast Oklahoma when I charged by three dogs on a country road. I drew my 9MM and shot two of the three. One was a pitbull. Three shots of hollowpoints to the chest at no more than five feet and that damn dog still wanted to kill me! Finally put a fourth shot through its head because I wanted to end its suffering.

I rode to a store, called 911, was met by two idiots who put me in handcuffs and arrested me for animal cruelty. I had a bit on my leg that was bleeding and the mother fuckers did not call an ambulance for me. I identified myself as a paramedic and firefighter and reserve police office (I was a tactical medic).

After an hour of bleeding through myself applied bandage, a supervising deputy released me and drove me in his unit to the hospital.

TLDR: Three shots to the chest and the pitbull was still coming albeit a diminished pace. The dog was dying and still trying to kill me!

Too many stories of Pitbull's attacking people. Most of the time the people aren't alive to tell their story.

I carry a .45 now. Springfield XP. 7+1. I get some shit about it from the "round capacity" folks. But, if I'd have hit that pit with a HP .45ACP one shot would have ended it. It's solid mid-price pistol, I've shot 200+ rounds through it. My son has one too and he's put at least 500 rounds through his with zero jams!


Scared the shit out of me, one second I'm taking a fairly steep grade in my granny gears, next second I'm using my bike as barrier and fishing for my pistol.

The dog's fucking owner stood on the porch just taunting me. Telling me to get on my bike and ride away. The mutt that got my calf was some sort of border collie mix. Thank God, it wasn't the pit.

Both of those effing dogs have blood all over their mouths. What are the three men trying to do? Why aren’t they shooting them? Sickening and terrifying how many of these psychotic dogs are running around in neighborhoods!

yup , i hate these assholes who use these rotwhilers and pit bulls as offensive weapons , i cant walk 3 blks anymore w/o some 185 lb 4 legged varmit trying to get over its fence and attack me. had one rush me last week , and the owner just smiles at me and says , oh he wont bite .

I almost had to plunge my knife in one a few years back when I was out on a walk and one rushed me.

Didn't have my gun.

The owner came out and called it at the last moment while I had my knife raised.

Kill every pit.

And their dumbass owners too.

I was attacked twice by pit bulls. Once while riding, I out ran them. Once when walking my dog I was attacked by three pits. That was scary! I ended up stabbing one and almost ripped the ears off another one.

I understand why people want a protective dog, I just don’t understand why someone would want a breed that is so out of control.

I carry a 9mm, but I think for anti-dog defense a .45 would be better.

Every breed of dogs can be vicious. Most of the bad dogs are that way because of the owners.

I had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix(mom dog was AKC registered). Her father dog was a Mexican Pit Bull. She died several years ago at the age of 15. She never showed aggression. All of the neighborhood kids would play with her, and she would slobber every one of them. She was a sweet and gentle dog.

I have a mean little Fox Terrier, who has bit me and my oldest daughter. She was a rescue from a shelter years ago, and is about 13-14 years old right now. The home she was taken from when she was 8 years old, was not good at all. She can be affectionate, but she is very much the "Queen" and harasses our other dog. She is a pint sized bully !

I also have a 4 1/2 year old Boxer/Pit mix, who was my late husband's "service" dog. She would alert us BEFORE he actually went into a seizure. She stuck to him like glue until he passed away from cancer almost 3 years ago. She is a highly intelligent, loving, and playful dog, and drags out all her toys so guests can play with her. She is also an excellent watch dog. She was an older puppy rescue.

If you treat your dogs like family, you will have a good dog. If you treat them like a possession, you will have a bad dog.

The dogs should have been shot immediately. I love animals, and I currently have a Boxer/Pit mix. I have had 2 bad dogs in my life, one was a Chow and one was a Black Lab. The Chow bit my kid for no reason, and he was gone immediately. The Black Lab wasn't right in the head. He was removed also.

Some dogs are just nuts, and it's not the breed. I had a Chow that bit my daughter, and all she did was walk past him. The Black Lab I had for a short while, was sketchy. I didn't trust him at all.

Stun gun will deter them.

You don't want to be stun gun/knife distance when they go for you if you can avoid it.
