The Corps has to adapt to the recruits they're getting and if the new recruits don't like guns, what are they supposed to do?

They are not getting rid of snipers; they are moving them to a different battalion. Reconnaissance, instead of infantry.

Force Recon will still have snipers, as well.

Scout sniper platoons typically have 18 marines. The new scout platoons will have 26 Marines and provide a lot more forward intel.
