This from an "immigrant": Syed Hossain, an Indian immigrant who works at a newsstand on 42nd Street near the Candler Tower, said having migrants move in there would likely boost business but might also bring trouble to the tourist mecca at the Crossroads of the World. “If there are protests or crime, people visiting from other countries won’t keep coming back to New York,” said Hossain, 49, of Queens. “If the immigrants behave and are nice it will not be a problem…If they are given jobs it will not be a problem. Normal, far sighted people saw this coming two years ago. We are going to see babies crawling on the filthy sidewalks, 12, 13, 14, 15 year old mothers begging with their two or three kids. Families walking up and down Park avenue begging for food and all of our lives become much cheaper. And this will be just the beginning.
