Apparently highly effective-so much so that some states make it illegal but for somebody in a survival situation it could be great. Also can be used to snag birds or rabbits. This and a magnesium fire started and some knives and a tent. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 85030915 [link to www.netsandmore.com (secure)] Yep, gill nets are great. The people on the Alone tv show swear by them. |

Near a lake with lots of shallows? A seine can really bring lots of stuff for a gumbo or baits on a trotline. A castnet is also very useful. Get some crab traps and bait them with whatever roadkill or chicken guts you can find. Gotta watch-over your traps though. A mess of crabs, boiled or bbq'd is some high hog eating... Wallyworld used to sell some cheap hammocks, those work as nets and the nylon is easy to take care of. |
