Now, in her early 20's he realizes he is really a he, not she?
What did they think would happen? The surgery would make her happy?

The father is an attorney I think.
TV star has tried dating men but revealed he was attracted to a woman in the latest episode.

So perhaps he was NEVER trans-gender. He was always a he. And now, in his early 20's he has buyer's remorse.

This is the case, just because you have money and can do something for your kids, perhaps it is still not a good idea.

These kids are NOT mature enough to make these LIFE AND BODY ALTERING decisions while in high school.

The big weight gain is a reflection of how unsuccessful this whole thing was.

There is no MENTAL BAND AIDS for this. At this point she has had about 5 surgeries and +other procedures, and is still not happy... says it all.

After eight seasons, four “sex change” surgeries, and countless hormone treatments, TLC’s I Am Jazz star Jazz Jennings still doesn’t feel right. “I don’t feel like me, ever,” Jennings revealed in a recent episode.

Jazz Jennings, who was born a boy and declared himself transgender at the age of five, confessed feelings of dissatisfaction to his mother Jeanette. “I just want to feel like myself. All I want is to be happy and feel like me, and I don’t feel like me, ever,” Jazz said in the emotional exchange caught on camera.

The current season follows Jazz’s severe weight gain and adventures in dating and romance. Now 22 years old and a student at Harvard University, the reality TV star has tried dating men but revealed he was attracted to a woman in the latest episode.

Seems like irony to me, that her original doctors said one of the reasons the first surgery was so complicated, was that jazz had been on hormones so long that they didn't have enough tissue to work with to create a vagina. So they used tissue from stomach lining.
