And saying that you've paid everything off is ridiculous. It’s like you are asking for something worth a thousand dollars after paying only a hundred dollars. This is socialism. At age 55, the last SS statement I got (about 5 months ago), showed that both my employers and myself (since the age of 14 when I started working) have contributed: Me - $219K My Employers - $219K So $438,000, plus I'm still working now and can't even qualify for SS full benefits for another 10 years (age 65). At age 65, based on today's numbers, I will collect $3,100 per month, or roughly $37,000 per year. I'd have to collect that amount for 13 years just to recoup what my employers and myself have put into the program, NOT INCLUDING ANY GROWTH OVER THE LAST 40 YEARS! It's a rip off. If they offered me all of my money (and my employers contributions) + a retroactive 2% per year interest, then I would cash out. Guess you were stupid to pay in,Ukraine But they won’t make you an offer…it’s always been a pay forward program. All sales are final. No refunds allowed. |

You should have children that care enough about you to care for you. I am not responsible for your life, and if you die why should I care? You see me as a walking wallet- not a person. SO why should I treat you like a person when you won't reciprocate? Bullshit. SS was supposed to be insurance, in case you lived long enough to be unable to work. Just like car insurance, you are paying a premium. That is why no money is paid if you die before retirement age. The problem was that Washington took the money and spent it, it was supposed to have been left alone. No, sorry, everything I said was true. It doesn't matter what you think it was "supposed" to be. It started out literally paying benefits to people who never paid in. That is the definition of a ponzi scheme. the Supreme court already determined its just a tax and that no one who paid the tax is entitled to anything. Hence it is NOT insurance, even if it was "supposed" to be Insurance, by the way - covers things that MIGHT happen -distributing the risk - you know you will get old hence there is no need for "insurance" unless you provide so little value to others that you can't afford to save money like a responsible person would and then decide you will live off of others by stealing from them. If it is such a great idea- why do people have to be forced to pay into it? Why are they not allowed to opt out if you can show you will be taken care of by your own means? ( Actually the Amish are allowed to do so) One COULD set up a retirement insurance without the fed and mandatory participaton couldn't they? They didn't. Its not insurance. Its a ponzi scheme to steal your money and give it to the government and that is exactly what happened.
