"ACCOUNT" in 1966.
It was NEVER meant to be a SAVINGS ACCOUNT
like everyone was led to believe.
If it had been, all they would have had to do is
legislate that BANKS open "savings accounts" for
every worker.
If that had been the case, every cent that I HAD
to contribute from every single paycheck,
(Social Security deductions were NOT optional)
would have been earning compound interest.
So, when I started drawing MY MONEY OUT,
it would have been a COLOSSAL amount of dough,
accumulated over a half century.
Instead it was taken from ME and given out
immediately, and in later years was stolen
and given out to people who never worked a
day in their lives.
In ANY case the money I paid in was GONE
with nothing left but an IOU.
A promise to pay me a certain amount every
month. Some people, like my mother, who worked
her whole life, paid in her whole life, died
at 61 years old, and didn't get one red cent
back.
Some people who lived long lives got MORE than
they paid in.
That's REALITY.
If you want TPTB to renege on that "promise",
go for it. The whole shitting mess is going
to collapse soon anyway.That....... And for me, my husband worked 80 hour weeks, week after week, till he "paid out" max ss withdrawals. While he was working 80 hour weeks, I was working full time job and raising our 4 kids by myself........ And I'm supposed to acquiesce to this OP ??? LOLSsssss
