Moral people would have realized this was going to bankrupt their kids and demanded it be repealed. The Boomers were the only generation that had the required size to make a difference. They instead CHOOSE to burden future generations with their retirements - just as you are arguing that you still deserve something out of other people's pockets now. Shouldn't you be living with your kids? Shouldn't you kids be taking care of you? If they won't, why should I , a complete stranger be doing that? Its your generation's prevalent collectivist attitude that other people are resources for your own use that is the problem. You are responsible for you - You should have saved for your old age. You should have children that care enough about you to care for you. I am not responsible for your life, and if you die why should I care? You see me as a walking wallet- not a person. SO why should I treat you like a person when you won't reciprocate? Bullshit. SS was supposed to be insurance, in case you lived long enough to be unable to work. Just like car insurance, you are paying a premium. That is why no money is paid if you die before retirement age. The problem was that Washington took the money and spent it, it was supposed to have been left alone.
