Russia has more Palladium and Platinum then Gold/Silver used in the Western Banking System. Maybe that insures that Russia isn't connected to failure.

Lately Russia has dipped into their Palladium stash. But no worries, they have active mines and can produce more as needed. They had to pay for war supplies. That's how a healthy economy works. Reserve for hard times. Replace stash after hard times.
