BREAKING: New York Post: "Donald Trump says he will be arrested Tuesday"; Trump Appears to Confirm via Social Media

The supposed crime was the settlement money he paid to Stormy Daniels (which were his personal funds and every litigant is entitled to settle a matter just to get out from the legal fees and the nuisance of the legal claim, happens in 95% of cases, they are settled by the payment of money) were paid a week before the election and therefore "violated election finance laws" because it was money paid 'to influence the election'. So by paying a civil settlement to get rid of a (per Trump) false claim, when he had quite a bit else to focus on than a (per Trump) baseless claim, was a crime.

Under that theory, no one running for public office could ever pay their bills the week before an election ("look he pays his bills, he is a good guy I think I will vote for him") or resolve any business matters or pay employees ("look he treats his business/employees well I think I will vote for him") or as here, resolve any litigation.

It's is a very far fetched idea.
