Years ago, "scientists" funded by the plastic industry told us that plastic could not break down microscopically.

It would be expressed inertly out of human digestive tracts, no harm, no foul.

That was a lie, of course. Now micro particles of plastic are insinuated into the tissues of sea life, including fish that are consumed by humans.

this is similar to the lie the chemical companies claimed about GMOs---i.e. round-up genes spliced into corn to make it resistant to insects.

No worries---it would pass inertly through the system. Until it was found being assimilated into the stomach gut lining, and being expressed in cord blood to unborn babies from the mother.

There is a charity and all they do is clean up plastics from the oceans. Another saves seals and other creatures from death by all manner of objects mostly line and nets from fishing trollers.

The plastic industry is the number one problem creating the worlds waste. They have to convert to other means to make their profits. Plastic lined paper containers would eliminate a large portion of the worlds pollution from discarded water bottles. They already have them and use them, one water brand uses them. They have been using them in Europe over 50 years, and they are good for much longer storage times.

The world makes to much junk, dumb toys nobody wants, including kids.

Disposable Plastic should be illegal.

Single use plastic is the most mind numbingly stupidest idea imaginable. Using something once that you know is going to take thousands of years to breakdown...and actually it never breaks down..it just gets smaller and smaller and smaller.

The ban on plastic shopping bags is a con, it is still easy to buy plastic rubbish bags/bin liners of various sizes, sandwich bags and the fruit and vegetable section at the supermarkets still dispense plastic bags to put the veges in.
