In the early years of our my marriage, I could out leg press my husband by 250 lbs. I did 750 lbs & he did 500. We were about even on bench press at 250.

We were visiting family in Chicago in the 80s. I was around 10. We went to the big zoo. We were looking at an exhibit, where the animals were lower than the visitors. It had a bar fence around it, but not a good enough one.

A kid about 4 years old was climbing and fell into the animal area. The animals weren't super vicious but mountain goats, donkeys or something that could do damage to a little kid.

The parents, who were brown and not speaking English, were worried and started making some distressed noises in their language. Waiting for someone to do something.

My white, toxic masculine dad, looked around, realized no one was immediately coming and jumped into the animal area to get the kid.

Action. Results. Bravery.

Propping normal people up as heros shows how pathetic you are in your daily life. I've saved 4 dumb animals this morning. Too dumb to even give birth. Yet I'm not bragging about how masculine that makes me.

Being manly is about more than being muscular and fit. There are muscular and fit men who identify as women and wear dresses, ffs. They cannot be said to be manly.
