One thing which came to me, is because you can strain the oil off and use it to heat or cook with if you make a wick of some description. The Tuna is then a bonus item?

A great very many of us work hard every day to help avoid collapse, but I would still like to put in a good word for coconut oil.

Though coconut oil is unfortunately not a source of omega-3 fat (which is required for a balanced fat intake and proper development/functioning), some coconut oils have a shelf life of 5 years and can be rotated in your pantry with daily use, as unlike most oils that go rancid under high heat, coconut oil is good for cooking with. You can also use it for skin/hair and it has anti-microbial anti-viral anti-parisitic anti-fungal anti-candida properties.

Awesome that was for wars using 20th century tech. We are well into a digital simulated war. What's missing are basic characteristics that used to define humanity.

This is a good list. However, whatever army is in the area and roving gangs will steal all of this, rape your wimmin, and kill you. Even in a rural area. I was in Bosnia, people get desperate and very mean. Also, the American home is indefensible, it’s made of sticks and plywood.

Speaking of this list ... can anyone recommend a great can opener that will last for years?

I've tried about half a dozen different kinds of manual can-openers and they all break after 2-3 months of moderate use.

Yes, did you ever see the guy take a napkin and place it over an open can of tuna in oil, then light it? He boiled a pot of water and when it was done he simply blew out the fire and removed the napkin,it didn't really burn just-the oil, and he had cooked tuna fish. It was pretty clever, so you are right.
