Re: 100 items to disappear first in war
This is a good list. However, whatever army is in the area and roving gangs will steal all of this, rape your wimmin, and kill you. Even in a rural area. I was in Bosnia, people get desperate and very mean. Also, the American home is indefensible, it’s made of sticks and plywood.

YOUR RIGHTS is number 1 on the list.

Is anything major going to come of this?

Obviously I advise people not to take the bait and destroy their lives over Trump but I wonder how many hard core Trump supporters will fall for it?

It really doesn't matter where or when it's a great list to read if you are seriously getting ready for when the SHTF.

Speaking of this list ... can anyone recommend a great can opener that will last for years?

I've tried about half a dozen different kinds of manual can-openers and they all break after 2-3 months of moderate use.
 Quoting: Malleus

Hands down, the Swing-A-Way brand is the single best manual can opener you can find anywhere. For the reason that they use metal spacers, everyone else uses plastic spacers. Once the spacers break it's game over.

Awesome that was for wars using 20th century tech. We are well into a digital simulated war. What's missing are basic characteristics that used to define humanity.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84441201

How fast will 21st century tech be removed if this becomes a hot war?
Satellites are vulnerable. Drones are a game changer, but they do rely on GPS. If the war expands and it’s nato vs Russia/China/Iran I expect that Americans will experience the same privations that our mid 20th century predecessors did. If NATO does not hold, it could be an existential crisis.

False walls are your friend. Especially in closets that can take you to a well-ventilated space, or escape. Have a similar hidden panel or false wall to store some food and fuel inside of.

P-38 can openers will work as you want, when you want. I keep one on my keychain at all times. But if you're opening cans day after day for more than one person, it's a convenience to have something that will just crank through them.
