Re: I'm over 50, never married, no kids. . .anyone else?
Most dudes I've known who were loners no wife or kids are usually selfish pricks when it comes down to it. For the most part they are unable to hold a relationship, any kind of romance on their part is short lived at best.

Me married 30 years now, two kids third grandkid on the way. Its great we all live on the same acreage and share most meals together, we love it.

Yes we still are very active, going on a cruise next month with several ports of call.

We're happy.

Over 50, no kids. Spent everything on prostitutes and alcohol, now a physical wreck and on the way out.

No regrets, fuck everything!

Never wanted kids or to be married. My early dream was to be a smoke jumper. Right when I gave up dating, literally 24 hours later, we met.

Gotta say, 28 years later, I’m pretty sad the last kiddo left for college. I miss them and realize, they’re the greatest experience I’ll ever have. By far.

My uncle (Mom's brother) died in his 80s having never married or having children. I think he died a happy man.

Over 50 and in the same boat.

But have been to 35 countries, done many amazing things, have lots of time to myself, and have enjoyed life.

Just because you are not in the matrix does not mean you are not living a good life.

My Dad bailed after my mother told him she was pregnant. She lasted 15 months before I was adopted. That Dad bailed when I was 9 to go be a gay homosexual. The stepdad, 24 years older than the closeted homosexual adoptive Dad, showed up two years later and had zero interest in being a Dad. Had already raised four kids of his own. Not a victim. Just sayin'. Families haven't been what they need to be for a long time.

No kids, no wife, no ex-wife is just the way it's playing out for some of us.

Re: I'm over 50, never married, no kids. . .anyone else?
My point of view is different, wife wanted a girl and a boy got two girls blew the balls off I guess. Freaking rabbits sex was great now 3 a boy we are done. So I thought then sister dies with 4 kids now at 7 kids. Did make me work harder good thing but happy house was collapsing and did. Different moral compasses is all I can say. Well they all moved on never ask to come back but my daughter is thinking about it encourage her too but life in marriage is not always easy.

A word will last but a hand that bruises different story.

Re: I'm over 50, never married, no kids. . .anyone else?
If you had kids, would be a good chance of they behave as you don't exist.
As f. ex. the Japanese Kodokushi phenomenon.
Because you know, nowadays, most people prefer to spend their free time with a screen glued to their face, let alone the young.
On their list of interesting things to do, being with their parents is usually at the bottom.

That's just your fear of expiring alone talking, but guess what, most people will go the same way. Having kids or not.

Having kids is the most exciting, challenging, educational, scary, gratifying and loved filled experience you can possibly enjoy in your life. It lasts over years and when you are lucky your family grows with you and you see your grandkinds.

Sometimes I feel good about it...
Sometimes I feel not so good about it..

Not leaving someone behind kinda sucks...
But this world is horrible, so there's that.

It appears to me, most of the people with grown kids are ignored by those kids...

So why bother having kids right?

The way I see it is this - The only reason you should get married and have kids or vice versa is if: a) you meet someone you really like and enjoy living with her. Or b) you unintentionally have a kid.

I would never join with a person I didn’t like just to have a kid. That sounds like hell.

So there’s really nothing to think about beyond that. If you haven’t met that person, what are you gonna do?

But who knows I can be wrong. I have a Filipino friend. He said “Hey you wanna get married?” I said huh?! He said yeah, “these girls want to get married..” and proceeded to show me some pictures. I said I don’t know. I don’t even know them. I was checking them out and hesitant of course.. He said “you’re too picky man, it’s no big deal, you just pick one and get married.”

I don’t know maybe he’s right. I wouldn’t be doing all the cooking and housework if I did probably.

Had 4 kids.

Daddy was god.

Daddy was sooo loved and adored

Daddy helped them get drivers license and car.

They said thanks dad...

And fucked off into their lives.

Have not heard from them in five years.

No replies to texts...

No calls answered.

Nothing.

I did hear from other sources that they all vaxxed.

Are all probably dead by now.

But as far as i am concerned...

They all died in a tragic car accident 5 years ago.

Cuz thats what it wss like..

Just...gone.

Ive cried my tears..grieved..

And moved on.

I still have the memories of their childhoods..

Thats enough for me now.

Been there...experienced being a dad...

Life moves on.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 85463265

Did you have a favorite child? I ask because this one issue can alienate children and it is not something that can be discussed (jealousy). It causes the favorite child to be alienated by their siblings. The favorite child may realize that they prefer the acceptance of their siblings rather than the adoration of a parent who has failed to be discreet in their preferential treatment.

Just curious.
