This is to confront Russian forces directly in Ukraine

There is not scenario where United States allows its expensive asset Ukraine to be defeated.

Soon as Ukraine defeat looks likely US/NATO ground forces will go in from Poland towards Lviv.

United States has already said there will be no peace deal that includes Ukraine losing any territory including Crimea to Russia.

US/NATO make the conditions for peace totally and deliberately unrealistic because they want a hot war with Russia.
