Apparently the company fired someone Monday and some things were said and some posts were made online that border threats of physical violence and management has decided to strongly encourage the carrying of personal firearms for the foreseeable future.

Already had my AR in my bag.
I'm such a good employee. Lmao

Round here we bring our guns to work EVERY DAY. Unless it's against corporate policy, in which case we do it anyway and just don't talk about it. But fortunately at my company they don't have a problem with it.

The company should be doing more to ensure the safety of its employees. Change the locks, hire security, etc. I would not blame anyone for not showing up due to it being an unsafe work environment. If they’re worried this dude is gonna go postal they need to ensure the employees are safe. We had that happen at my place of work and had LEO there for the next week or so, and then heightened patrol in our area for a time after that. If dude came within 50 feet of the entrance to the building he would have been stopped and no allowed entrance. Plus we changed all the entry codes.

Sounds fucky to me.

People that carry legally do anyway.

A small company would know who does anyway.

I mean, people cant help but exchange firearm talk..most people anyway.

So to suggest that is fucky.

LE was notified I would assume?

That suggestion is like others making a painting, and saying you might help paint it.

If it were my job, carry or not..I would have appropriate people check out all of that.

No job worth getting fucked over.

And beside that job thing?

If someone is bound and determined to get you?

It can be anywhere.

I would say that in a crowded place of known people would be not only homicide attempt..but suicide as well.

The retaliation and no fucks given thing.

But on the other spectrum could be retaliation on ones enemy caught off guard. And alone.

The not kamakazee type.

Regardless..OP..it sounds fucky to me..

Re: I was just informed that it's "Bring your guns to work" week.
I am a firm believer in not letting anyone know if/what/where I am carrying anything. Even Family. It's not there to be seen and played with and the fewer people who know, the better. That is literally how it is most effective.

It's Florida, most people have guns. Obviously this is hard for people to comprehend but yes, my boss told us that if we feel comfortable doing so, we should be armed and prepared.

To be honest, I don't know if they called the cops. I would think they did but that question didn't even enter my mind. By the time it'd take to get a tac team from the sheriff or local PD to the scene we'd all be dead if they were our only hope. We're talking minimum 15 minutes to go through a building a little bit bigger than a school gym.

If motivated, it would take 4-5 minutes to do some serious hurt through that whole building and the bad guy would still probably have enough time to drive a few blocks before the cops made it through the door.

If it's life or death, you're probably going to be on your own. Either saving yourself or someone else. I'd rather go out trying to fight than be found in a chemical closet with a pair of scissors in my hands and a bullet between my eyes.
