New recommendations were issued by the Federal Rospotrebnadzor in connection with the identification of the third case of anthrax in Russia.

Recall that the disease was registered in two residents of the Civil district of Chuvashia. The cause of infection, according to Rospotrebnadzor, was contact with the butchered carcass of a bull. Another person who arrived from the Chuvash Republic was hospitalized with anthrax in the Moscow region.

Due to the threat of the spread of the disease, citizens are advised to avoid buying meat products, as well as animal skins from their hands and in places of unauthorized trade.

It is necessary to know that anthrax is not transmitted from person to person, but infection is possible through direct contact with a sick animal, when the microbe gets into microtrauma of the human skin, as well as when eating meat products with insufficient heat treatment.
