Anonymous Coward User ID: 85055952 United States 03/25/2023 01:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just look at the damage in Bremen, KY from the same tornado that hit Mayfield. It was just as bad but still got rated EF4. If the tornado doesn't hit buildings with very tough construction, it's al- most impossible to get an EF5 rating nowadays. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 74588849 United States 03/25/2023 02:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It was bad, on the ground for over 100 miles. Close to a mile wide wedge, utter destruction. Thank God it lifted, I think the record is 219 miles long path and 3.5 hours on the ground. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74588849 God should have kept it going to kill all the liberal confederate sympathizes who voted for Joe Biden With that attittude your luck will run out soon enough, troll. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 84992504 United States 03/25/2023 02:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can guarantee you that the National Weather Service will not go higher than EF4 when rating this tornado. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 85055952 Just look at the damage in Bremen, KY from the same tornado that hit Mayfield. It was just as bad but still got rated EF4. If the tornado doesn't hit buildings with very tough construction, it's al- most impossible to get an EF5 rating nowadays. If you have never seen F5 damage, you don't understand. An F5 literally rips grass, weeds, trees, and sometimes roads out of the ground. Even pulls pipes out of concrete foundations. Leaves it looking like a circular plow went through. And there are NO piles of debris - it is miles down the path. So I agree, EF4. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 85181792 United States 03/25/2023 08:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Don't they have underground shelters under their houses out there in mississippi ? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4431417 Storm shelters underground range from $6k up. 23% are below poverty level... So, no. I don't know if they would have survived underground in a small shelter anyway, the debris is fairly heavy, it would be a hot box. |

Also those close to the river can not have basements, water table too high. |
