You've heard it said that the Roman Family...the oh boy, can't think of the name...Divicis?...[edit: The Piso family] wrote the New Testament.

But who were they?

Roman Aristocracy, the people who built the Coliseum, the people who understood the value of bread-and-circuses.

And their religion was Sol Invictus. To entertain the masses they would do morality plays based on Sol Invictus, giving human character to Astrological precepts and often attaching the words of prophets long gone to those characters in those plays.

Krishna, Buddha, Zoroaster and even Greek Philosophers would find their words attached to Sol Invictus Characters of the Zodiac.

To include and appease the occupied Jerusalem, they changed the name of the Sol Invictus character to Yeshua which was a catch all term for "He who saves"

Much like Luke is a name which means Light.

So Roman citizens would see these plays like we see movies, learn simple morality lessons, and would never think to associate these "semi historical" tales with meditation.

They could go back to their jobs, the families, their taxes, and maybe not be so pissed off by Roman occupation.

It worked so well, they made it the State religion.

Yeah, you are talking about someone with an incredibly large IQ writing the Holy Bible. No one in Rome was that smart.

The Holy Spirit breathed . . .

Catholics teach no one can be saved outside the Catholic Church - and we, as New Testament believers, do not adhere to this. There is room in the kingdom of God for everyone, so your little Catholic ideas do not go anywhere. We believe even Catholics can be saved, if they would just pick up a Bible and read it for themselves.

The smartest people in history existed in ancient times.

Hermes Trismegistus
Thoth
Enoch
Abraham/Brahma
Krishna
Buddha
Confucius
Solomon
Akhenaton
The Apostle Paul
I'm just scratching the surface

I mean just look at what's encoded into the Great Pyramid or check out the Cathedrals and Temples that look like they came out of a fantasy novel.

YOu think they couldn't write a book based on sayings from these incredibly smart and wise individuals???

Rome may not even truly be the "Rome" we think...

Rome is just Latin for "Rama" or The Kingdom that gave us Krishna in NW India.

The source of which may even trace back elsewhere to THAT.

Mount Meru, maybe.

The Four Rivers...Eden

Check out some ancient maps.

Personally, I prefer nothing of this construct. Others are here to transmute.

That’s not a useful or productive belief system.
The world was not improved by Christianity as most Christians like to insist it was, by Christians saying, let’s not do anything productive or good, let’s just wait for Jesus to return and exterminate all those of other beliefs and religions like Revelation says he will do, while we sit around and make sure we don’t do any good works since God says they are just filthy rags to him.

Good thing most Christians ignore this verse, like Jesus ignored it.

Isaiah 64
6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

What is a "good work" if it is done by the hands of sinner?

---

You may think you know the answer, but the truth is that all actions done unto others produce karma, and sometimes the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

For example: Feeding the homeless.

Joe Homeless was almost dead. Another day without food and he would've passed away from hunger and exposure.

Johnny Christian walks buy and throws him a hamburger, keeping Joe alive one more day.

On the next day, Joe murders a family when he breaks into their house to keep the party going.

Are the murders at least partly on the actions of Johnny?

Johnny was just trying to do "Good works" but instead a family is dead and Murdering Joe is still at large.

Johnny is guilty of interfering with karma.

Meanwhile, Johnny could've been working on his own problems.

Selfish? Service to self?

Without the ability to see every possible consequence of our actions, we should take NO ACTION as the *perfect action*.

However, we wish to be agents of God/Christ so that others are inspired to find him, to find their own salvation.

Therefore, all acts of kindness and compassion should be done IN THE NAME OF CHRIST and not in our own names.

When we give these actions to Christ, Christ takes on the Karma *and* the responsibility of keeping that individual from negative reactions.

We are not here to do good works or deeds, we are here to be emissaries of God.

Short of that, we are to find God within and try to raise the Christos back to the Father.

One begats the other.

We may be too far gone in this system to do anything but keep trying in earnest.

Some of us may only dream of trying.

The above logic is evidence that karma is also not a useful or productive belief system.

I agree that charity is best done in organized groups which do the work to evaluate the need and the best way to fix it.
Individuals can be mistaken in their attempts throw food or money at another individual but there is no blame or karma for it. It simply means the help was ineffective in solving its long term problem.

A good work done by a sinner elevates the sinner to a better position.
More good works will lead that sinner to becoming an actual good person and he will have less to regret in the afterlife and might even hear the words, well done!
