"MOSCOW (AP) — Russia will continue to give the U.S. advance notice about its missile tests despite suspending the last remaining nuclear arms treaty between the two countries, a top Russian diplomat said Thursday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov’s statement followed his comments on Wednesday, when he said Moscow had halted all information exchanges with Washington envisioned under the 2011 New START nuclear pact, including missile test warnings.

On Thursday, he clarified that Russia intends to stick by its pledge last month to keep notifying the U.S. about missile tests in line with a 1988 U.S.-Soviet agreement, Ryabkov said."

Russia changed their mind Thursday and said they will continue to warn the US of missile lunches.

The US doesn't want Russian intelligence gathering ships to watch the hypersonic missile tests, so perhaps that would be why they did not warn of this launch. A warning would give the Russian Trawler time to get into position and warm up the tubes in their receivers. :)

The US is frantically trying to conduct a successful hypersonic missile test to catch up to Russia, China and India. Apparently, rampant MIC corruption and Woke-ism does not lead to technological improvement.

If we go to war without at least parity on the hypersonic missile front, we will have troubles.

Of course, the US does not want public footage of failed hypersonic missile tests. Not only would they not preannounce such tests, but I dare say that they will try to confiscate and scrub any such amateur videos, as fast as they can.

It is not that important. US has range advantage in most cases and the hypersonic launchers will be ash before anything gets in range of it. That is key reason US did not pursue them. That does however leave Europe and Asian Ally at risk but for US stand off forces, they will destroy hypersonic platforms before they can shoot due to range.

The new Satan missile is an Intercontinental Hypersonic maneuvering vehicle.

Unless we have a particle beam "Star Wars" type defensive weapon, I don't think there can be any counter.

And you assume our predictable path ICBMs, or our slow cruise missiles can hit a strategic target in Russia.

Russia's defensive missiles put the Patriot system to shame.

Unless the secret black ops programs have devised some new secret technology.

But here is the thing. Secrets are a great idea for most military advancements. But for technology that affects the MAD nuclear power balance equation, you actually want your opponents to know of any advanced technology you have, as it may prevent the conflict from starting.

If one side thinks they can "win" a nuclear war, the world is in extreme peril. (Which explains where we are at today).

Like I said. If we had a particle beam weapon, it would have been well advertised by now.

Strategic nuclear weapons get advertised, because they prevent the adversary from thinking they can start a nuclear war and win it.

This is why Russia has advertised its new nuclear doomsday weapons. ( The 100 megaton Kanyon Torpedo, The Satan II hypersonic maneuvering MIRV missile, Short range hypersonic nameuvering missiles, and their old doomsday weapon, "Dead Hand".
