Next few years. Great Depression #2 happens. Yes/No?

My hope is the financial economy gets obliterated but the real economy actually grows. But realistically they pretend they’re one and the same so they can get a bailout. But this country would be so much better off without such a large, harmful and extremely greedy financial sector.

More likely that communism is enacted, fascism or hyperinflation. It’s hard to have a Great Depression when you print as much money as our government does lately.

This right here... We're already a few years into it.
The reason you don't realize it is two-fold.
First, there is a much larger population now, than in 1929, and as a whole, more people have money than in the past.
So while a large segment of the population is already unemployed and struggling, you still see a segment of the population that still has resources and can spend as prices skyrocket.
Secondly those still with resources are all you see... The media is actively under complete control of the government propaganda apparatus. So you are getting "gaslit" by media coverage that hides the actual condition of the nation and it's people.
They falsify gov unemployment stats, economic stats, crime stats... Pretty much all of these are boldface lies.
Soon they won't be able to hide it...
The current food pantry lines that stretch for entire city blocks, and last for hoirs , every day, will devolve into out and out riots, as shortages become more visible...
The lies they tell about available jobs (there are none, most places are closing down, and laying off) will become obvious, as the Unemployment payments dry up.

As they cut programs, more and more of this depression will become visible to the average person...
