the newest "Mages" game came out
man I'm looking forward to this
I've been waiting for this game all year

doubt anyone remembers me talking about chaos;child, the mages game about telekinetic powers where psi users' delusions actually overwrite reality, it was also about a weird mk ultra project in japan involving those psi users. not a very popular visual novel but one of my favorite stories.

anyway those guys released a new game, here's the opening movie.



some of the things it looks like will be touched on lol...
the singularity
the illuminati
simulation, time jumping/timeline changes
sacred geometry (in the opening movie there's the Vitruvian man, the Fibonacci sequence, and even a saturn square)
ai apocalypse
... "hacking god" (whatever that means)

and get this lol the main character is a hacker. these games always have a strong backing by science which is what makes them fun, as they take known science to the theoretical limit but deliver an amazing thought experiment and story that verges on the supernatural without crossing that threshold.

anyway...there is always an educational facet to the games which is optional but still really interesting, and in this one, lol, networks is a very big educational theme. very funny for me since I just started learning about it
