You don't know what you're talking about. These dormant genes don't exist in all animals. Worms don't have dormant genes for fingers, teeth and tails. Neither do squid. Or many fish. The only animals that have them are -coincidentally- the ones that once had them according to evolution theory.

Similarly, humans and apes have dormant genes for vitamin C synthesis and egg yolk. These same genes exist in a non dormant state among animals that lay eggs and synthesize vitamin C.

Dolphins and whales have the genes for hind limbs. Sharks don't.
