Yes its late 80's and all original underneath there. I hope I dont hurt anything spraying the wrong parts. Not really sure what I should be targeting exactly. Do I soak the rubber parts like the bushings and stuff with it as well, which connect to the metal frame components and what not? Theres a snowplow mount thats attached to the front which goes to the frame, some of the grommets or bushings look like they are totally falling out. And some of the leaf springs, seem to be missing their layer of bushing as well. Lol. Thanks for the tip on the Silicon spray. Thats huge. |

Come to think about it, I often cruise around with the stereo on because I dont get much of a chance to listen to music that is speaker-based (Not headphones) indoors, And driving is the only chance to do that, so maybe Ive just been listening to way too much music in the truck, when I should have been listening to the truck itself to notice if this was an issue sooner, rather than now lol. But anyway, I imagine it could run another 10-20 years with this "Problem" or concern, whatever it is, I'll try the silicone spray for now. Sounds like it wouldn't hurt to have it applied anyways, in terms of a preventative minor maintenance/love step. |

If these have worn through or missing they will make noise. The leaf pack clamps also have isolation material. Soak the springs with rust penetrant and see if it squelches the noise. |

If you never experienced "death wobble" or heard of it please look into it to understand the danger |

I noticed when I grab the Roofrack and rock the vehicle I hear the slight squeak sound from the middle part of the truck. Take care ;) |

These cars are for people that can work on cars. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72843440 Yeah, I have an offer of 10,000 for it, Rite now. I might sell it, And yeah I don't own any tools besides the tools required for doing light duty work, such as computer towers, lol. Its just that I love it so much, I was told its not known for being 100% bulletproof, but I mean, so far its been the cheapest vehicle I've owned, in terms of the works its needed since getting it! It was trashed when I got it, suspension was shot, had no radio, no cat converter and open muffler and worn out/shot power steering. Now its relatively normal and is reliable I would say, its like the fanciest vehicle you could get for a big scary looking person such as myself. Best winter driver. When I think of the money, I could use it to buy a newer vehicle on Credit and potentially fix my rating which is 0, Its just that the thought of not having a vehicle ready to go in case the world goes sideways, bugs me. |
