"The Emergency Quota Act, also known as the Emergency Immigration Act of 1921, the Immigration Restriction Act of 1921, the Per Centum Law, and the Johnson Quota Act (ch. 8, 42 Stat. 5 of May 19, 1921), was formulated mainly in response to the large influx of Southern and Eastern Europeans and successfully restricted their immigration as well as that of other "undesirables" to the United States.

Although intended as temporary legislation, it "proved, in the long run, the most important turning-point in American immigration policy"

Re: BREAKING: NYC Mayor asks judge to suspend “right to shelter” obligation, saying the city can no longer house tens of thousands of migrants
Right to Shelter is about HOMELESS, not immigrants.

"In 1979, attorney Robert Hayes, co-founder of the Coalition for the Homeless, sued the city in the New York State Supreme Court, arguing every homeless man had a right to shelter. Expanding that right to women, children and others would not come until later. The lead plaintiff in the class-action lawsuit was Robert Callahan, a homeless man who was suffering from chronic alcoholism. Hayes found Callahan while he was sleeping in Manhattan’s Bowery neighborhood, according to the Coalition for the Homeless’ website.

After intense negotiations, the city settled the suit in 1981 with a consent decree, which required the city to provide a sufficient number of beds to meet the needs of every homeless man looking for shelter."

This is lawfare, using US law as a weapon. Just like they used our own planes against us on 911, our own U-hauls to deliver bombs, etc.

Homeless and immigrants. Maybe NYC is using the law to vacate hotels. hmmmm. That's a halfass-backwards approach.

When you virtue signal ("we're a sanctuary city"), you better consider getting ready to walk the talk. I think Abbott needs to change things up, though, and send plane loads to other leftist strongholds. How about Boston and east coast ritzy shore communities - you know like where Biden hangs out? Maryland, Delaware, Rhode Island, etc.
 Quoting: thinking...

There is a HUGE fancy new HUD building right at the edge of Frederick Maryland's downtown.
I was kinda dismayed to see it. You just KNOW that city is going to be destroyed by government rental policy and BLM riots. Those nice old historic houses will be gone. The 'walkable city' the left love will be gone.
You can just tell the uber wealthy want to wreck that town in order to depress land values and then build condos all along the canal.
Of course there are BLM signs everywhere as they have no clue....
