Because people have lost their minds and are buying into it.
Friend of mine, her 23yo daughter just paid 60k for a new truck. Another person I know, his son, 24YO, paid 80k for a new truck.
Buy one vehicle and drive it for the rest of your life.
If everyone did this, the prices of new cars and trucks would plummet.
