Unless the driver has a bulletproof divider from bottom to top he's going to be shot in back and his gun taken and robbed

Great idea, but the car insurance for running such a rideshare will probably be unaffordable.

He's a genius. My kids said Atlanta was horrible the last time they were there. Their truck was broken into while parked in a lot with supposed security.

I've done Uber in a high black and Mexican area and let me tell you, with every fare you are literally putting your life in extreme danger for $5. But times are tough and at the time I was desperate for money. Thankfully I got away unscathed but experienced a few scary moments in my 6 month stint as a driver.

Re: New Ridesharing App: Like Uber, But With Guns
QUOTE
A new ridesharing app has been launched in New York and Atlanta, Georgia, by former private investigator Kerry King Brown, which will allow its drivers to be armed.

Brown appeared in an interview with Atlanta News First and testified that the creation of his app, called Black Wolf, was “a necessary evil.”

“Who are mostly on the news getting robbed, getting raped? The average person,” Brown said. “What I’m creating is a necessary evil. It’s a necessity.”

According to Brown, drivers are required to pass a background check and are trained to de-escalate any situation if a confrontation should occur on the road. He attested that “an average person” who has no prior experience handling a pistol would need to undergo “detailed training” before employment.

While the intention behind the Black Wolf ridesharing app to prioritize driver and passenger safety is understandable, the concept of arming drivers raises concerns regarding potential risks and escalations. Safety measures like background checks and de-escalation training are essential, but it's important to carefully evaluate the effectiveness and potential consequences of arming drivers. On a related note, this article at [link to www.cleveroad.com (secure)] provides insights into the cost considerations and factors involved in developing an app like Uber, which may be useful for those interested in exploring alternative approaches to enhancing safety in the ridesharing industry without resorting to arming drivers.
