Re: Just bought a Tesla are people dumb?
1. Autotrader does not have a 2021 Tesla Model 3 with less than 15K miles listed for anything under 30K.

2. Your MAX tax credit is 7500 bucks this year....but you only get when you file your 2023 taxes as a credit against your total taxes owed.

Meaning if after you do your taxes you owe the govt a 4K check....you get 4K as a credit and pay zero.

So OP's claimed price could be feasible.

3. Model 3 have an 8 year / 100K battery warranty.
-a 74-kWh Model 3 pack costs about $10,000. But a fair amount of evidence shows you can charge about 1500 times (200K miles).

I personally don't see a problem with electric vehicles, especially if you just plan on driving locally where you normally are doing under 100 miles per day.

I know of 2 places in my town where the government is letting these leaches charge their battery on the tax payers dime.

I've seen that 40% of the chargers in my state are free to the leaches and the govt. is making us pay for their juice.

Beginning January 1, 2023, if you buy a qualified used electric vehicle (EV) or fuel cell vehicle (FCV) from a licensed dealer for $25,000 or less, you may be eligible for a used clean vehicle tax credit (also referred to as a previously owned clean vehicle credit). The credit equals 30% of the sale price up to a maximum credit of $4,000.

The credit is nonrefundable, so you can't get back more on the credit than you owe in taxes. You can't apply any excess credit to future tax years.

Purchases made before 2023 don't qualify.

Biden’s new emissions laws are impossible to make in a combustible engine.

They will be illegal to drive soon.

A combustible engine? I've had a few of them and they're no fun - especially in a van.

I don't give a shit about biden or his rules. The only part of him that still works is his asshole.

When I can get a good, functioning electric car for less than $1k, I'll think about it. Meantime, I can still get 40mpg on a 400k mile ICE.

There is no niche wtf is a niche when ranges are going to be pushing 300 - 500 miles in range.

Even with my base model 3 250 mile range is more than enough to do whatever the fuck you want for 99% of people.

I’m going to drive 1200+ miles in it, when you decide to take a pee break you come back to a fully charged car… half the price of filling up with gas.

Re: Just bought a Tesla are people dumb?
Do electric cars give off radiation? Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) radiation is emitted from every electronic device’s battery and circuitry – and that includes electric and hybrid cars. Radio Frequency (RF) radiation is emitted from cell phones, modems and other Wi-Fi or Bluetooth wireless devices – including many of the electronics in an electric vehicle. It has been documented in many scientific studies that EMF radiation – both ELF and RF – can cause adverse health consequences even at low levels.

The pervasiveness of electronic devices and wireless signals and their constant, long-term use is what concerns many scientists. The closer you are to sources of EMF radiation and the longer / more often you are exposed to them, the greater the chances of potential health damage.

As Joel Moskowitz, Director of the Center for Family and Community Health at the University of California Berkeley explains, much of the research about health effects related to EMF exposure in electric and hybrid vehicles has been industry funded and so potentially biased, yet some peer-reviewed studies have found that exposure to EMF radiation in electric cars does have biological effects.

He goes on to state that electric vehicles could potentially be considered carcinogenic since they emit higher levels of ELF radiation than would be considered safe by many scientists. EMFscientist.org is an organization of scientists that recognizes the dangers of EMF radiation, and they are calling on government entities around the world to protect consumers’ health.

DO ELECTRIC VEHICLES EMIT EMF?
All vehicles, whether electric or conventional gas powered, will emit some level of EMF. The concern with Tesla (and all electric automobiles) is that the construction increases the driver’s and passengers’ radiation exposure. Tesla cars and other hybrid or fully-electric vehicles (EVs) use battery packs that store electrical energy to run the motor, with electric circuitry all around the car.

Tesla integrates the battery pack, power inverter, charger and other electronic parts into various areas within the car. The lithium-ion batteries, which have high energy density, are under the car’s bottom frame. All of these will contribute to Tesla electromagnetic radiation emissions, most especially the inverter, which is a high emitter of EMFs.

$24K after tax incentives 2021 12K miles, had damage on the rear door that was fixed. Base model 3 is somehow faster than my cousins Aston Martin or fairly close

+ Literally doesn’t even compare to a car it’s the closest thing to a space ship.

+ Suspension is S class level

+ The features in the car are only found in $65K+ vehicles, and even then they are lacking.

+ The included auto pilot is all you need, it’s the best system I’ve seen by miles, adaptive cruise + steering, full auto pilot is useless.

+ Batteries literally last hundreds of thousands, the new versions will probably last 1M - 2M miles….

+ Handling is super car level probably even better because of the low weight it feels like a big go cart it’s fucking insane

+ Instant torque is bananas

+ I don’t have a charger at home, I super charge about twice a week 20M each time while I eat some tacos. Cost $8 each charge…. Which gets me about 200 miles…. Charging at home even more convenient

+ 0 scheduled maintenance…..

+ A/C Heat pump are super efficient minor range issues, blasting the A/C in a regular car lowers your range by 1-2mpg also.

+ Biggest CON if someone hits you in an accident even a minor replace your bumper one the insurance agencies will declare the car a total loss and pay out.

My options were $24K literally brand new Tesla vs a fucking Corolla Prius which would be pushing $30k+ loaded with taxes….

Literally retarded to buy a regular car nowadays, it’s the same dumbass arguments, they can shut off your car they’re able to shut off majority of modern cars, they passed a law for kill switches lmao.

These retards think they’ll be allowed to move freely from their 15M city because they have a Corolla gas pass lmao

The arguments are so asinine they borderline on fucking stupid.

It’s the only car in a long time that actually gives me joy getting in it and driving it, super comfortable, super relaxing on long trips where you basically monitor it on sketchy roads.

Driving down to Florida next week will probably feel like I did nothing compared to the pressure of flying down 95 with trucks all around you

LOL, wait till you have to replace the batteries. Yer gonna love the cost of that. EVs are great for LEASING right now.. if you own though, well, you’ll see.

Re: Just bought a Tesla are people dumb?

That’s literally a retarded statement it’s like saying wait until you need to replace your engine and transmission…. Majority are reliable, battery has 8 years 100K

99% of the time you aren’t going to replace shit, I’ve never had a Japanese ice car not blow its transmission at 150k miles

There are people with teslas with 300k - 800k miles, getting a brand new battery and another 200k basically new car is win win.

The new batteries last 6000 charge cycles x 250mi that’s 1,500,000 miles. These cars will become the new tacomas x 10

Also you can repair the battery cells now for like $2-$3k, 5-10 years from now you’ll be able to plop in a brand new battery for $5K or cheaper.

Only thing is dealing with range loss of 10-15% near end of life, ICE probably has the same losses in MPG.

Electric cars will literally comodotize cars, they’ll become throw away cheap shit. As anyone can compete you’ll have every company in the world undercutting everyone like when smartphones first started.

You’ll probably be able to get a new car for $5-$10K, majority won’t even own them anymore they’ll become like cellphones $50-$100/mo to rent one.

France is already offering a tiny city car for $20/mo that you charge from a regular outlet lol

Uncle fought in the Donbas tanks got stuck he got a Corolla now. Concerning your cousin sucks that the roof airbags didn’t go off.

Seriously are you fucking retarded? What would front air bags do to help you from your roof caving in? Airbags deploy from front side back hits not someone jumps on your roof.

They would most likely kill you if they deployed swear people are retarded lmao
