+ The features in the car are only found in $65K+ vehicles, and even then they are lacking.

+ The included auto pilot is all you need, it’s the best system I’ve seen by miles, adaptive cruise + steering, full auto pilot is useless.

+ Batteries literally last hundreds of thousands, the new versions will probably last 1M - 2M miles….

+ Handling is super car level probably even better because of the low weight it feels like a big go cart it’s fucking insane

+ Instant torque is bananas

+ I don’t have a charger at home, I super charge about twice a week 20M each time while I eat some tacos. Cost $8 each charge…. Which gets me about 200 miles…. Charging at home even more convenient

+ 0 scheduled maintenance…..

+ A/C Heat pump are super efficient minor range issues, blasting the A/C in a regular car lowers your range by 1-2mpg also.

+ Biggest CON if someone hits you in an accident even a minor replace your bumper one the insurance agencies will declare the car a total loss and pay out.

My options were $24K literally brand new Tesla vs a fucking Corolla Prius which would be pushing $30k+ loaded with taxes….

There may be an oddball who hates EV just because, but most people have made reasoned arguments based on cost analysis.

I don't trust them because they're too new. New models of any car aren't good. The problems will get worked out in 20 years, until then you have paid dearly to be a beta tester.

What's also not been mentioned is the heinous impact of battery rare earth materials mining on the environment and the people mining it. Of course petroleum extraction can be damaging as well but its become a lot cleaner in recent years. Also not mentioned is that most electricity charging EV is generated from a coal or oil plant.

I will say I've considered buying one and setting up some off grid panels and a charging station. It would be nice to be free of gas price fluctuations. But its still too new, overpriced and untested for me.

Tesla models are pushing 10 years all demonstrated to have outstanding reliability, pricing depends on where you call on the spectrum if you’re the average consumer of 50-60k cars… a new Tesla is a bargain

Also why would you even care you have a 100k 8 year warranty sell it at 100K with their currently insane price retention

The range on those cars is very poor related to gas engines.
Some people store gas at home with gas stabilizer which is much easier than storing electricity.

Also, be sure to have one of these seatbelt cutting tools on-hand for when your batteries blow up. You have to exit the vehicle very quickly in order to not burn to death.

Howdy OP will it carry 40 bags of feed or cement about 80 miles in the mountains? That's the distance to the nearest feed/hardware store and there's no chargers for miles.

Have you tried it in the mountains yet, what's the range?
