You could research such craft for a century with a black budget of billions and still get nowhere in terms of reverse engineering the technology for actual military use. This is proven by the fact that even today America has several near peer adversaries and is apparently behind on missile technology.

People cannot grasp the magnitude of the technology gap.
Imagine sending a d-wave quantum computer to ancient Sumeria 10,000 years ago and asking their best people to work on it and try to reverse engineer it for weapons use.

It would take a miracle for them to even turn it on, since it's millennia before electricity is even understood... Let alone reverse engineer any of it's technology or understand how to use it.

But these craft could easily be a million years more advanced than our tech.

Gosh, it just makes no sense that they deny it.

They should just go ahead and say,

"Ok, we admit it. We have had this technology for the past 75 years and have been reverse engineering it to create cool weapons and to make our elite corporate buddies rich by controlling new technologies.

Yes, we have lied about it, because we know that the world could not handle the truth, sheep might stop going to work and paying. And it would not be profitable for our treasured elite masters.

Zero point, clean, free energy? Yeah, we've had this technology for decades and it could have replaced fossil fuels a long time ago.
