I’m hoarding goats, chickens, fences, karts, trailers, beans lead and gold.
Lots of people have started bartering and I’m all in.

My friend butchers deer for hunting season.
Ima pack and freeze the carcasses to use as chicken feed supplement through the winter.

I sell lots of plants and now have specific business selling high bush cranberries to hunters because they provide good deer feed for mid winter.
The deer stay healthy and you know where they’re gonna be in January/February.

Garlic is my favorite crop because it’s not hard to grow, has a decent shelf life and is a good trade commodity.
People with meat and eggs usually will trade for garlic.
Fruit and garlic seem to be fine currency at any yard sale.
I got some gold bracelets for a bag of apples a month ago.

I’ve been feverishly hoarding circuit boards to process and refine during the winter.

In a basic survival scenario the priority list goes like this:
1 air
2 shelter
3 water
4 food.

If you are handy at fixing things and have tools and transportation, you will always be relevant.
If you produce food that’s good too.

My garden strategy is to collect and grow as many perennial plants that have beneficial uses as possible.
I plant fruit bushes on scrub land and grape vines under neglected fences.
I do many things to try and teach others the virtue of self reliance and it pays off.
I have made many post plandemic friends through purely charitable deeds.
Craig and his list has been my only social media aside from here.

Goats are my favorite.
They will eat all the weeds I don’t like and some I do.
A lady I know has a goat that loves to smoke weed.
But he’s not even the coolest goat I know.

I always said that if I lived to see the apocalypse, I'd emerge as some sort of mushroom wizard. I was one for a while, but I kind of fell off the horse these past few years.

Someday I want to be very old, with long white hair and a fluffy white beard, like God. And I want to wear a purple robe with yellow stars, and a big floppy hood that can be put up and down, while I walk around barefoot in a beautiful land, on a moonlit night, following the glow of the fires, one to the next, stopping by each encampment and visiting friends, sitting by every fire.

With a wink and a nod I'll slip some of them mushrooms, which they'll immediately devour, without making a fuss or causing a scene, so it's our little secret, and then we'll sit around the fire, talking and playing songs, and someone will play an old song that we all know well, and someone will play a song we've never heard before, and it'll be so good, and it'll blow our minds, and they'll just the sort of song we like, and nobody can believe they've never heard it before, that it slipped past their radar, and they'll ask what the name of the band was, and immediately forget it again.

When the songs are done, I'll decide suddenly, out of nowhere, to start telling a story, and I'll weave an intricate tale about nothing at all, making the words up as I go, and speaking with a flair and a cadence and a soothing voice, to hypnotize my audience, as I conjure fantastical images, vivid and honest, and hanging like holograms in cool night air. The story is told in a secret language, it will sound like pure nonsense, and yet each listener that hears it will uncover its deepest meaning, like an answer to a forgotten question, and they'll glance at me in amazement, and if nobody's looking I'll give them a quick wink, one that suggests that they alone had grasped the true meaning, and that it had been my intent from the beginning. Later, after I've gone, strolling towards the glow of the next little encampment, and the people have turned once more to speaking amongst themselves, they'll discover that each had found their own meaning, and that it had touched them very deeply, as if it had answered a very old question that they thought couldn't be answered, and became a source of comfort to them, each time it came to mind.
