the basic assumption is wrong. The species depicted had indeed been known in greater britain long before columbus hit Hispanola.

there are also a whole lot of ancient egyptian (what is known as early pharohic eqyptian) artifacts have been found in a huge manmade cave along the sw river front (north side) of the grand canyon.
