They have even found a wealth of history regarding Lazarus and the fame he received from being resurrected but no one worshipped him.

I am particularly interested in scholars who take a mid temple or second temple cultural understanding of biblical interpretation. I will agree this approach is VERY disturbing to the modern western Christian. That said, this approach illuminates scripture and the supernatural war. It does not usuallt take one away from the faith so I'm interested in why Davis would approach it that way.

I have two question, OP:

Does this mean that if I go to a party and bring a deluxe pizza and a bottle of sangria while under the under the influence of schrooms that I'll be able to multiply the pizza and wine when the crowd is larger than I anticipated?

Why is the entire book of Mark paralleled to Homer's Iliad and the Odyssey? And then there are old Bibles that don't depict Jesus rising from the tomb. There are also so many gods depicted as rising from the dead. Why would God expect Jews to believe in Jesus when so much of the story was so similar to pagan beliefs of the time? Or that the Messiah would encourage Jews to violate food laws as was done at the Last Supper when the disciples were told to drink wine as if it were his blood and eat bread as if it were flesh, as pagans had done before this?

I've been a Christian my whole life and recently doing a deep dive on history has brought all of this to my attention. How can we trust the canonization of the ROMAN Catholic Church when the Romans were the enemies of the Hebrews and early Christians? Why were they dead set on killing the Cathars as heretics and witches? Are we to believe what they say about them when the church has a vile history? I'm asking all this honestly.

How can you say it doesn't take one away from the faith? I've been a lifelong Christian and I've just recently started doing a history deep dive into scholarly aspects of the history around the times of Jesus. If you take away the virgin birth, the resurrection and the divinity of Christ, what is left of the faith? Hebrew men, especially rabbis, of that age and time would have been obligated to marry and have children yet we are taught that Jesus never did.

Dead sea scrolls predate Jesus by hundreds of years. There really is no connection between the 2.

As for Jesus, there is more written evidence of him than any other religious founder. To say it's all fake requires proof that just doesn't exist. Jesus was a real historical figure well documented in his time.

There was no Nazareth during the time of Jesus. It would only be correct to call him Jesus of Nazarene which was an offshoot of the Essenes.

I prepared the amanitas i found once the way it says in this book^^^^. The preparation represents the death and resurrection of jesus. It was the most traumatic experience of my life, but i did see the birth and death of the universe after dying a hundred times over and over myself, and jesus' silhouette was overtowering all things at the end of time having the last laugh, a big hearty belly laugh like santa.
