it would have to be a rotted tree to be dried enough to be light enough to lift like that. but a limb like that that is rotten would probably break if you lifted it and slammed it like that.

I bring trees like that back from the woods near daily in the summer. Free fire wood

I look for a certain stage of decay

Punk wood is almost rotted and very light. Although that’s handy, as it’s light. It doesn’t burn for long

Even a dead tree that is dry can have some weight to it and be too heavy

But there’s a perfect stage of decay that is light enough to bring home. Yet enabling me to carry a whole tree back on my shoulder. Perhaps 2.5-3m max. So not a whole tree, but basically a whole small tree

The wood in the video was in a stage of decay that’s for sure

A fresh tree like that would be very heavy and no man should be able to lift and whack it like that

But if it’s a latter stage decay. Yes most men could do that. Likely they’d be able to do it in the lethargic way we saw in this video

So I’m not convinced

If that was punk wood. Most could swing it around with ease. But it didn’t break like punk wood would have. But it could have been a latter stage of decay and light enough for a man to do what we see in this video

With that in mind. This thing lifting that tree made a labored job of it. And the whacking of it on the ground was lethargic. But it did have it at one end give or take with two hands.

Tricky dingleberry certainly wasnt a tree that was live, also when you use objects to scale it, the tree doesent look so big. I think picking up a rotten or semi rotten tree of this size, wont cause much of a problem for a fully grown man in some gorrila costume.

im usually pretty skeptical about this sort of thing.. i could understand how someone could perhaps lift the single log towards the end, but how he just pulls and pushes the first limb with branches effortlessly out of the way. you know much much drag resistance those branches would cause on the ground? just flings it like nothing

I'm 6'4" 240lbs. Yes, I can move dead trees like that. Specially if it is soft wood like a pine that was killed by borer beetles that eat up to 20-30% of the wood.

Let it dry (become seasoned) the water weight goes down as well.

Well, there's no way a human lifted that tree like that. Now that I'm doing forestry work on my land I have a new appreciation for how heavy a whole tree is, even a smaller one.
