Breaking: U.S. Supreme Court Won’t Hear Derek Chauvin Appeal In George Floyd Case

Well, I am someone who any defense attorney would love to have on a jury because my need of proof of guilt is pretty significant. So, though I think it's logical that an action like that very well could be a factor leading to someone's death who was already overloaded with drugs and in a panicked state- and that they should have been listened to when they said he couldn't breath, it would need to be proven to me medically that it was a factor and then I would vote high degree manslaughter, excessive force, negligence of an officer.

But there has to be enough air taken in to be able to oxygenate the blood.
He was not getting enough, and he had stopped talking after two minutes and the rest of the time on the ground was spent unable to speak and dying. When someone says, I can’t breathe’ it means get off me so I can breathe more deeply, I’m going to die if you don’t off of me,’

A police officer should not be held accountable for a drugged thug. I guess in your mind, he should have let him up so Floyd could grab the officer's gun and shoot him.

Floyd was already handcuffed behind his back at that point.

The testimony in the trial as i remember is that they were called and got there but then told to wait around the corner. After Floyd had died, they were then advised to pull up to the scene and try to revive him.

I just think that police of all people/professions should be sharp and be prepared for these situations with more non-lethal types of procedures. They must see drugged out people daily and have to deal with it. I guess the force should have stronger, smarter, better trained people.

That second stat is very damning. Those number represent what is typically found in the bloodstream of deaths by overdose.

Regardless if he actually died of an overdose he violated his civil rights to life by kneeling on his neck for so long and using that procedure. He is liable for his death with that technique he learned from IDF. Fuck cops

Hennepin County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker ruled Floyd’s death last May a homicide and identified the cause as “cardiopulmonary arrest” that occurred during “law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression” – all findings he stood by in court on Friday.

Asked about the autopsy and Floyd’s death certificate, Baker described the “top line of the cause of death” as “what you think is the most important thing that precipitated the death.”

“Other things that you think played a role in the death but were not direct causes get relegated to what’s known as the ‘other significant conditions’ part of the death certificate,” he said. “For example, you know, Mr. Floyd’s use of fentanyl did not cause the subdual or neck restraint. His heart disease did not cause the subdual or the neck restraint.”

Floyd had hypertensive heart disease, Baker said, “meaning his heart weighed more than it should.” This meant Floyd’s heart needed more oxygen than a normal heart and was “limited in its ability” to provide more oxygen when there was a demand for it.

In the midst of an altercation and being held to the ground, adrenaline would pour into the body, Baker said, making the heart beat faster.

“In my opinion, the law enforcement subdual, restraint and the neck compression was just more than Mr. Floyd could take by virtue of those heart conditions,” he said.

People can often handle much more than what is considered a fatal dose. It’s called tolerance. And there are tons of cases where medical staff has said well you should’ve died or you should be dead right now cuz that’s a fatal dose. Dude probably takes that on a daily basis. Cops need to be taught a lesson don’t use this technique because it actually can kill even if it didn’t kill him. He should be liable for his death just by applying the technique he learned from the IDF. Not sure but didn’t they say this was not an authorized technique.

Maybe reduce his charges but he’s guilty of manslaughter and violation of civil rights if he was overdosing it should’ve been apparent at some point and he should’ve gotten medical attention. The cop delayed his medical attention if that is the case. Kneel on his back if you are trying to take a smoke break and are being lazy on the clock not on his neck.
