if you're going to make your own HEALTHY dog food, you need to add other incredients, including minerals that can't be found in most foods that dogs will eat. So many people think that throwing their dogs a chunk of beef will sustain them? It won't. Organ meat is definitely best though.

Your dog will live a shorter life on just beef.

A good mix of chicken and beef too, some times lamb but our dog is spoiled. Also some times I’ll mix in some veggies and grains, egg.

I am using organic grassfed beef and beef liver. Wouldn't that include all nutrients needed for perfect dog health?

It's just about perfect, and your dog will be healthy and happy. Only thing needed would be some bones, or bone minerals.

You can add rice, veg and natural gravy from the meat and mix in with the meat too.

Isn't liver supposed to be poisonous? After all it processes the impurities in the body.

Serious question.

I cook beef also for my dogs, and I mix it with really high-quality kibble, some kelp or spinach and carrots. They love it.

Re: Feeding my dog just beef and a bit of liver. Loves it. Eats half amount she ate of regular dog food. Cheaper to feed beef than crap dry dog foo
13yrs ago I had a diabetic cat that was on grain-free canned food as was doing great. 2 days before Thanksgiving he became ill and would not eat or drink water. It was clear he had decided to die. I was trying everything and nothing worked.

Again it was two days before thanksgiving and I had an organic turkey in the fridge that I was planning on brining the next day, one day before thanksgiving.

As a last ditch effort I got the bird out of the fridge a day early cut off a small piece of raw liver to see if I could convince my cat to stick around for a minute.

Cat had been laying in the same place for 18hrs and again he would not eat or drink. When I offered him a tiny piece of the raw liver he perked right up and gobbled it down. Cat began following me round begging for more. I carefully fed him more but I knew better than to feed him too much because I knew he was ill.

We had a great thanksgiving and I got two more good years out of that cat.
