I read the article in the Statesman Journal. I knew the Drown's too long and too well. I know the signs of a battered woman. She was NOT a battered woman. She is using the system to try and get her off for what she took part in with the abuse of the children. Was this her idea or the lawyer's? It makes me sick that she is trying this, rather than take responsibility for her own actions. I do not beleive for one minute that she is a victim. She ran the household and her husband, too. One more lie to catch her in, since knowing her. OMG!

Fate of children at issue in abuse case
Nine are separated; parents say they should be together

The well-being of a Turner family splintered by child abuse allegations was discussed during a court appearance by Graydon C. Drown, 48, and Robyn K. Drown, 41.
The mother and father have been accused of injuring eight of nine children living in their rural home, using plastic pipe, 2-by-4 boards and switches.
Marion County Circuit Judge Tom Hart on Thursday entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of the Drowns, who face felony charges, and set a Dec. 15 trial date. The judge then turned his attention to the Drowns' children, questioning state officials about how the eight boys and one girl were faring in foster care.
Since their parents were arrested in June, the children have been divided and placed in five foster homes.
State officials can't recall a similar situation where so many children were removed from one Oregon family.
"To the best of anyone's memory, nine children from one family is unique for Oregon," said Greg Parker, a spokesman for the Oregon Department of Human Services.
State foster care officials told the court that the Drowns' children were spending several hours per week together as a family, despite being placed in multiple foster homes. But the Drowns' representative told the court the couple wanted their children to live together.
A friend of the Drowns, who told Hart she has known the family for about a year, said she would be willing to bring all of the children into her home. The judge directed DHS to begin the process of certifying her to become a foster parent.
Parker said the agency doesn't disclose the identity of potential foster parents for several reasons, including the safety of foster parents and foster children. Certifying a foster family sometimes can be done in a couple of weeks, he said.
The Drowns oppose vaccinations for their children, but the judge ordered that all the school-age children be vaccinated. The children range from younger than 1 year old to 16 years.
Hart indicated that he wanted the children placed in a foster home where food is prepared in accordance to Jewish dietary laws. The family attends Temple Beth Sholom in South Salem.
In July, a grand jury indicted the Drowns on 14 counts of second-degree assault. In addition, the Drowns are charged with 11 counts each of first-degree criminal mistreatment.
The Drowns also have three adult children who live out of state.

People have known the Drown's ... and are telling you that there was neglect. I am not a self proclaimed expert, but I am going to believe the children, what they told ANON and the Deputies. I think your head is clouded. Do you think Graydon and or Robyn should be out of jail before a trial? I don't. The experts don't think so either. If you helped with supporting the 3 oldest children, why don't you tell the truth. Why were they taken away from the parents years, ago? Answer some of the questions people that know them have!

Actually, if anyone harmed one of my children I would not stay around for 25 years. I don't think I would have to go even one mile in those shoes! Soul searching? The only "searching" Robyn is doing is for family and friends that still do not know the truth about who she is and what she has done.
Sorry, I know Robyn now and do not buy the whole "abused spouse syndrome" BS. When was the last time YOU actually spent time with Robyn and which symptoms did YOU observe first hand? I have never seen even one indication. And, yes, I am familiar with the signs and symptoms of spouse abuse.
I think Robyn is one SICK puppy but she is 100% sane. Robyn as the one who abandoned the first three children to go off with Graydon. Robyn was the one that kept having baby after baby even though she knew exactly how they would be "raised". Robyn is the one who chose Graydon over her children over and over again. It seems just to me that both have been charged with the exact same crimes because the blame is equal.
If you, as a family member, knew the history where were you when this abuse was going on? Why didn't you try to protect the children? Is it because the family did not where Robyn and Graydon went? If this is the case then I think you should all think long and hard about believing anything Robyn is saying now. Her only problem is that she has been caught. She will say or do anything to get out of this. I bet it is not the first time. Why are her family members willing to be fooled again? She is never going to change. Hopefully, a jury will look at the evidence and see the truth.

You sound like you think all Robyn needs is a few parenting classes. Think again. I too hope that the "system" works and that she sits in prison for at least 18 years. Then when she gets out she can answer to her ADULT children for the harm she caused them.
I guess you have not seen her in a very long time because Robyn is an extremely controlling and demanding person. I do not understand how anyone would want to see these children returned to Robyn. She had 24 years and 12 chances to get it right and failed every time. The only thing she regrets is getting caught. Just how many chances is she entitled too?

Robyn and Graydon should both be equally charge for what they have done. They both took part in "disaplining" they're children as they would call it. When they would spank their kids it would never be one spanking, it would be 10, and when they were put in time out or "solitude" in this case, it would never be 5 minutes, it would be an hour! They are overbearing abusive parents. Anyone who thinks that they should get a second chance, OR that Robyn is a victim of control is full of BS, they should both rot in jail!!

...they did have three children already taken away. I don't know if they were born in Alaska or not, but they did spend a lot of time in the Sacramento area of California. They moved after their first three were taken, given to relatives, and had more children.

I will send a copy of this thread to Robyn's new attorney so he knows that the family that hired him is NOT playing by his rules. It is not as if there are 100's of people out there supporting Robyn and it will be hard to figure out who has motivation to get the relevant information buried.

You all keep saying that the things posted on these sites do not matter so why all the fuss? And on the sabbath too!

Wasn't talking to some of the kids to try to control their their testimony about Robyn ENOUGH? You are supposed to be shutting up but you all can not control yourselves. So finally you are reduced to playing games? Easy to see where Robyn got her impatience and lack of self control!

You should be more worried about the courts finding out about your attempt at witness tampering, less about the things people who (as you all keep insisting) do not know anything about the situation are saying.

Lets just look at the past few weeks. Is it not true that there was a fairly last minute public defender firing and hiring of a new attorney? One that specializes in criminal defense? Didn't the grandmother discussed testimony about mom with some of the children?

I bet you do wish it would all disappear, especially the the part where people found out about the possible jury tampering. I hope every possibly illegal action perpetuated by the Lewis family is looked over with a microscope.

I remember another incident while sitting in the second row during a Sabbath service (we must have gotten there late and had to sit that far toward the front). The Associate Pastor's wife had spread out a blanket for her two young boys to sit on. She had asked the two year old to move over. He was preoccupied with his toy at the time and didn't do it. She asked him again, and he ignored her. She asked him one more time, and he (like all two year olds) automatically said, "No!" She promptly pulled a long wooden spoon out of the diaper bag and picked up the child and headed for the Mother's Room. The child began to cry, but she continued on her spanking mission. That's when I learned that you were supposed to bring a wooden spoon or paddle to "discipline" your child with.

I remember when we began having children at the same time that another couple in the congregation began having their children. They were "2nd generation Christians" and had grown up in "the church." They had a girl about two or three months before I had our son. I remember the mother telling me that they were spanking the girl for not sleeping at night--she was only seven months old at the time. I remember when they were trying to potty train her and she kept having accidents (she was only two years old). The mother had asked her mother-in-law (a long time member--she might have been a deaconess--but I can't remember) what to do. "Spank her, she's being rebellious," was her response. I felt so sorry for that child. It seemed like she was being spanked for every little infraction for behaving like a normal child. Needless to say, this girl began having nightmares and screaming spells during the night. She also had a reputation for "being sneaky." (I'd be sneaky, too, if I got swatted all the time.) I can remember the few times that we sat behind them during services. The little girl would turn around to look at my son and the father would glare at her and take her by the head and turn her around (she was about two at the time). My son was fairly active and it would cause her to want to look and see what he was doing. I know this couple thought that we weren't "controlling" our child and I had gotten to where I would avoid sitting anywhere near them just because I couldn't stand to see that little girl get in trouble over nothing.

What I remember most about those times was being confused and fearful. I never knew when I was going to get spanked or corrected. We lived in Tucson and under Mr. Reedy's regime, we were constantly being reminded that we were evil and needed Satan beaten out of us. On top of that, I had the unfortunate status of being female. It was often drummed into my head that as a woman, I had little or no options. I was expected to be someone's wife some day and do everything that man told me to do.
