A Fleet of attack helicopters just passed over my house

Something is up this morning...they are spraying the crap out of us in Iowa this morning.

Joe, I am in Dinwiddie and just saw them (three), but I know there had to be more because I heard them pass before I got up and looked. They were headed east / southeast...

Alrighty, made coffee and calmed my nerves and checked google maps and it looks like they were coming from maybe Charlottesville or Staunton area, if they were headed straight they were definitely going to Norfolk, VA Beach area. And may I just say this is NOT a normal occurrence by any means. Am most curious to find out what the heck caused them to charge full steam ahead right over the trees like that...

hi De La Luna, i'm western hanover county here and although i live in an aircraft corridor, never seen these guys flying so close /so many. maybe enroute to norfolk..who knows. all i know is its out of the ordinary. stay safe.

There is alot going on today regarding the Iran missile test and the attack on our embassy in Turkey. Maybe they were going to protect something or were ordered somewhere do to a threat. Who knows but the tension with Iran is getting really bad.

Were they blasting out classical or rock music full blast on megaphones as they passed over, or sounding the calvary..? Were probably students learning how to fly them...

Hmm Joe, I guess it could have been the same group perhaps, but we are not exactly next door neighbors. The timing seems about right for them to have been the same. I was on glp right after they passed to see if anyone else reported them and that was about 15 mins after your initial post time. All is quite here now.

Beautiful area, your neck of the woods. We were just up there this past weekend (Lake Anna, Montpelier and Ashland). We are looking to move to that area. My husband has to drive to D.C. once a week for work and with gas getting so high we are trying to find a closer location without it being too close. Those property values north of Fredericksburg - geesh, way high and besides, we're country folk as well. Don't want to get too close to a major city.

I am in Boulder, Colorado. There have been a number of planes in the air as of recent, though I can't tell if they are military or not.

Thanks for sharing this vid. They were not appache's, but looked a lot like either the supercobra or the viper. Light greenish greyish with the two dark oval thingies (don't know what they heck they are called but up toward the blades on either side of the body) on either side I clearly saw as they flew over and by (viewed from behind and below).

Apache Longbow looks like a locust from the front. I knew it would be #1.

I'm in Charleston and at least 2-4 fighter jets fly overhead sometimes at least twice a week. It means nothing....they are only doing training maneuvers.

cool,back in the 90s i used to have fighter jets buzz my roof ,just a couple of inchs off the roof ussally ill be looking out the window (top floor)and they would fly over.it was awsome....

Occurs more frequent around Charlottesville exit/ Goochland, Louisa area now that heads to Hanover. So low to the ground, heading east at night more frequently for Jan. 09.

At evening hours heading more to Charlottesville, head west by day more.

Lots here in Luray area.Blackhawks practicing at the airport all the time.Hueys and black heli's flying from Harrisonburg to D.C direction and back.Lots of C130 traffic too.Something's up.I was in the Army and guard,infantry,and we used to fly to training in the 80's,but this is different.Has anyone seen the high flying hueys?
