you might want to make sure you have a full tank of gas. Some cash.If it gets bad you can always make a run for it. Unless they block a bridge? In that case I would get off the island before. Much appreciated! Got a full tank of gas but I wouldn't want to take the causeway off the island in big winds. OH CRAP!! That reminds me of a dream I had maybe a year ago! I dreamed I was crossing over the causeway and a crashing came from the right side. I saw the railroad tressle gate up and the causeway flooded, going down. SHIT!!! Sorry but that was a freaked out response.
The State of Texas has control over the causeway. The just built a new one with the wavy solid guard rail AND NO EMERGENCY LANE!!!!!!!!!!!!! More than one person has broken down and GOTTEN KILLED because of this.

Sorry, forgot. The only other way is the ferry to Bolivar. Those will be shut down. Lastly, past the seawall's end is FM 2004. NO seawal and floods over VERY FAST. WE ARE ON THE ISLAND. Zowie !
