I read the book a few months ago. Didn't know Oprah recommended it, otherwise probably would have passed even though it won a Pulitzer. I read it in less than a day...could not put it down, I loved it, however, it reminded me of Stephen King's first novel, 'The Gunslinger".

The movie was supposed to be released Oct. 16th...but delayed it because of the release of "where the wild things are".

I, for one, will see it the day it is released...
