I figured the thread needed to be pinned. Even though I pay as much as anyone else here, my threads rarely get pinned like yours snd others do, even on the same subject. Only a couple of the mods are unbiased.

well we all know that we are living in vey strange days. Therefore I take nothing for granted anymore.

All I can say that this is so uncommon and artificially set up like a church mass or a Beatlemania like concert, the whole thing stinks to heaven.

For us in europe such "eventness" is even more strange as he is only another politian and no super star or whatsoever, the commentator just said if Chnacelor Merkel would introduce herself in such a manner then half the world would only think she has gone nuts.

MSNBC's Chris Matthews and others were talking about ANY campaign taking the huge risk of hosting a political acceptance speech in such a huge stadium, and Matthews just said Obama's popularity completely filled the stadium with 80,000 people while McCain is having trouble getting 10,000 to his VP announcement.


Wonder how many would be there If there wasnt a free concert after the speech?

They probably don't have anyone who is well known.

Good grief Polly. He is the nominee because of his color. No white guy with his experience could get the media pushing him and drooling at the thought of a black or a woman president. Get real.
