mY friend's sister has a house in Friendswood, south and west of Houston. It sits up a little and besides losing the fence and some trees down, it is fine. You guys, there is not massive death.

Western Houston was never an area where there was an anticipation of a problem. We are talking about the North Texas coastline and possibly East Lousiana coast line.

Something about this whole thing stinks.

... only 9 people have died? Some number is off either the number rescued or the number dead or both.

Those idiots should have gotten OUT OF THE PATH OF THE HURRICANE... They were SERIOSULY warned and chose to ignore it. Therefore, they have no right to bicker and whine about whomever feels gracious enough to rescue their idiot asses. they dont really deserve sufficient response.
 Quoting: BrightSide

Which wolf is fed when you wish or condone bad things happening to people whose only fault may have been tardiness from what we hear and getting cut off by a PREMATURE storm surge as they were preparing to move. As for thos idiots who chose to weather the storm in the bar llike the great hurricane party of Camiole 1969 i can only say that their extremely bad judgement does not deserve death. if bad judgement equalled death, then none of us would be here now.

Sorry, but you need to open your eyes and take a look at some of the videos available. Most may have been lucky, a huge number were not.

Check the KHOU forum... a LOT of folks are unaccounted for and there are areas where the damage is catastrophic.

Also, for those of you with little compassion, saying they should have left... Many could not! By the time they were ready, and should have been okay to go according to the warnings, the roads were already impassable. One poster (the thread "Ike") told of his predicament and, as far as I know, in the aftermath has not been heard from again either.

IMO, things are not as they may seem here, and certainly not as it's being painted by TPTB.

Hi guys. I am so sorry for you all! My thoughts and prayers are with you all the way from Australia.
Now sorry, if this has been mentioned in the last 8 pages but we are getting news here in Australia that survivors from Galveston are being shipped to San Antonio camps with no time set for a return. The military were counting them to get on the buses. This sent shivers up my spine. Will these people be ok???
Or is the first of the culling???
 Quoting: RavenCrow 503609

Yes, these people will be ok. It may not be all the comforts of home, but it's dry, they will receive medical attention, be fed 3 meals a day, given clothing, provided with use of phones to try and contact family members, and they will have air conditioning, which is very necessary in this area. It is NOT a camp, though it may seem like one. It's an emergency shelter. In the short-term, this is all they can do for now due the the huge number of people being helped. In the long term, they will provide these folks with some type of vouchers for rental homes, rental apts., etc., until the utilities are up and running again in their home communities. Some may be not able to return home ever because there is nothing left to return to.

This is massive and there is only so much that can be done in a short period.

Re: Galveston reports- Katrina II
Yeah, add to your list - if you have a friendly doc and can get it - some vials of Morphine Sulfate in 2mg, 5mg, 10mg & 20mg doses. These are little tabs in the vial. You add a cc or two of sterile water, wait a couple of minutes and they're dissolved and ready to inject.

Pain from injuries can be a major problem, even up to inducing shock. MS can stop pain. STAT! you need to know how to use it and when, but it's fairly simple. IV is the best rout of delivery, but IM or Sub Q will do in a pinch. 5MG of MS given subQ can relieve even broken bone pain for a few hours.

The larger doses can be useful for someone who's sustained very serious injuries. It will stop pain, put them to sleep for a while, and sometimes push them over the edge when they've been hanging on. While this stuff is NOT candy and needs to be treated with great respect - it can be a miracle drug in and of itself by stopping suffering for a few hours and thus preserving life because someone didn't go into shock.

On the other hand, a seriously ill person with a major crush injury and no rescue possible - a well placed dose can end their suffering and usher them into the next world without fear or pain. I normally do not like Physician Assisted suicide, but there are time when euthanasia is justified and morally right.

Lastly, you can be injured too. A dose of MS every three or four hours can be the difference between you getting back out of there or being trapped by your own pain and unable to move much.

When this stuff was first discovered during the Civil War, it was called "God's Own Medicine" (GOM for short) and there was a a damned good reason for it being named such.

If someone insisted on staying on the front shoreline of galveston island during the hurricane then yeah they might have been swept out to sea. What can you do at this point? No good worrying about people that have decided to go out that way or whatever. Not saying I don't have compassion, but that suffering or death was self inflicted if that's what happened. People are strange to figure out. Some of their behaviors just don't make sense.

Houston Ship Channel ...

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

On December 25, 2007, The Houston Ship Channel was featured on Anderson Cooper's CNN Special,"Planet in Peril," as a controversial and potential polluter of nearby neighborhoods. This year, the University of Texas released a study proving that children living within 2 miles (3.2 km) of the Houston Ship Channel are 56% more likely to become sick with Leukemia than the national average.[citation needed]

They are waiting for power to be restored ...

'Officials at the port of Houston, an economic engine for the region, said they would decide Sunday night whether to reopen Monday. It all depends on the restoration of power - which was still out Sunday morning - and a green light from the coast guard, which was still checking the Houston ship channel for any submerged objects that might have been swept into the shipping lanes.'

Re: Galveston reports- Katrina II
Here's what just now happened LIVE on CNN right about noon 12pm CDT or few minutes after and did anyone else just see this happen ???

The newsman in CNN news room was just now doing a live interactive report from Galveston with Betty Ngyuen (sp)reporting right now.

He said they were going to show viewers some I-reports that are quite astounding,,, that some are more than just seeing piles of debris.

Then he went to the Google Earth feature where it shows you the home views from the street as if driving down the road. He showed a pre-storm image of a man standing out on balcony of a blue beach house located in the area of Galveston Island called West End = the NEWS BLACK OUT area. He says that house is on the west of the main beach road (actually it was on the northwest side as the island runs at a diagonal). Then he switched views to show a row of 5 (maybe he said 6) beach houses across the street - still prestorm. He even counted them out individually and commented that these were across from the blue one and located on the side of the beach shoreline.

The he says something like, "now we're going to show you this video we've recieved of those houses that are no longer there."

And as he clicks his remote, the screen just goes blank and he turns and looks at someone who is off camera with a puzzled look (someone who apparently was giving him info or a "cut it" sign) and he sighs, then remarks, "well, it seems that we don't have that video" or something along that line.

My teeth almost fell out watching this incident as it was so freaking obvious that ORDERS are being issued from higher-ups now in control over the entire media. The ptb / NWO (or whoever / whatever) are now in a full tilt take-over of ever aspect of our society in USA ... and they are resolved to keep us from knowing the real situations taking place, the TRUTH of matters happening all around us, in our own towns, with families and friends!

This is infuriating ... the entire concept of Freedom of the Press is now nothing but a huge joke! Information control, covering up, disinformation, propaganda, deception, lying and obsufication, etc etc ----> those are now the only game in town.

Everything America has ever stood for is being stomped into the dirt right before our eyes!

Fema is fucking up AGAIN!
-1st responders have no food or water. And I mean no food or water for THEMSELVES.
-Empty buses are driving between Austin and Houston.
-Media Blackout over most of Galveston.
-BOLIVER PENINSULA IS GONE. I'm talking Greensburg Kansas F-5 GONE! There HAVE TO BE MANY DEATHS.
-No word on Nuclear and Biological Labs at UTMB.
-fema has taken over working cell phone towers on Galveston so no residents can call in or out.

This is BAD!
 Quoting: Cunning_linguist

No, not at all.
What IS bad is the idea that the rest of us, mainly those of us of the more populous north eastern states, are once again expected to bail out all those asshats who cannot bear the winter weather we deal with.
Fuck those idiots.IF they insist on living in Hurricane Alley, they should damn well bail THEMSELVES out. This time and every other fucking time.
