Here's another oddity.

The Galveston Daily News site allows for comments to be posted.

The link below takes one to a page for comments, on IKE information exchange. Although all the other blogs SHOW the comments, the one on the Ike info site does NOT! This is what appears:

Everywhere, people who fled the island want to know about their property, apartment complexes, island landmarks, and other information. You can post a comment on this blog entry to supply information or to ask a question. Someone who is reading might be able to answer.

For relatives of islanders:
If you are trying to reach property owners and/or relatives that may have stayed in their home during the storm, call Galveston’s emergency operations center at 409-765-3710.

Essential business owners:
If you own an essential business on the island such as a gas station or food outlet, call Jeff Sjostrom with the Galveston Economic Development Partnership at 409-457-6335.
