Anonymous Coward User ID: 504789 United States 09/27/2008 11:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well first of all, $700billion is not enough money. They'll be asking for more soon. Most of us are pretty pissed. I'm trying to figure out how to not pay for my house. Last year a court in Ohio ruled in favor of people who's houses were being foreclosed, when the bank couldn't prove that the bank owned the house. The court threw the cases out, and the people got to keep their homes. I'm not being forclosed on, but I don't want to pay anymore. Not when they are handing out Billions to rich rich people so that they don't have to face their mistakes, brought on by greed vanity and lust for power. I'm working with an attorney, and hopefully by next summer I'll have my own bailout going. My mortgage is through Washinton Mutual, and if they can't prove that they hold the mortgage, I'm not paying. Working on what the lawsuit will be. I'm planning on suing. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 321651So tell the dumbfucks in Europe to mind their own business and they really should be more concerned with Sharia Law. Well, this does affect us in a great way to you know. Take care |

I think its all bullshit we made it over a week without this bailout and the stronger companies will just takeover the weaker ones, thats how a free market is suppose work. Enough elected officials will be toast if they back it, so local elected officials (judges, etc) are likely to side with us regular folk in torts that seek "retribution." The question is, will the final bailout plan close all avenues of redress for the citizens of this country? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 501302 United States 09/27/2008 11:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | True sentiment is being buried by the MSM, including that ridiculous USA Today article claiming 75% in favor (in a phone survey of 1,000 people eating KFC for dinner while watching "America's Got Talent"). Sentiment is overwhelmingly against the plan and the PTB know it. It's being blacked out. |

User ID: 458746 United States 09/27/2008 11:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Personally, I don't know ANYBODY that is for this bailout, and I have only seen a couple of people on other forums that are for it. Now, keep in mind, the couple O have seen that are in favor of it don't think it will fix anything, they only think it will "buy some time" so they can better prepare for the economic disaster. I think the claims of a majority being in favor of it are either outright lies or they are asking people who have no idea what the bailout is about. I don't see how anyone who has taken five minutes to think about would approve of it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 480595 United States 09/27/2008 12:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm not for it but I'm starting to think it might be necesary. Why? Because I don't want people to lose everything they've worked their whole life for. I don't want the little guy to go out of business because he can't get credit or access his payroll account. I want the CEOs and CFOs to go to jail if possible because they ran the worlds biggest ponsie scheme. If the bill can do this without any golden parachutes, hold the ones responsible accountable and undo the deregulation that Clinton started and Bush added to. Yes it will a good idea. BTW...When I heard that some people are putting over 7 billion in earmarks into the bill I puked in my mouth. |

Uptight Librarian User ID: 512234 United States 09/27/2008 10:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think the word 'outrageous' sums up the sentiment, OP. There are those of us in the U.S. who try to live financially responsible lives. There are those of us in the U.S. who strive to honestly pay back any debts we have accrued. And those of us who live this way wouldn't even *THINK* of asking or expecting the government to bail us out of whatever financial holes we have gotten our individual selves in. So when the financial industry in this country plays fast and loose, makes bad/reckless financial decisions, bad loans to bad credit risks, pays themselves *obscene* amounts of money, lives at a Marie Antoinette-like remove from the average American, and worst of all, creates fictional investment vehicles and sells them to unsuspecting investors domestically and around the world, then has the GALL to ask the U.S. taxpayer, via the U.S. government, to foot the bill when the whole farce has been exposed, and to expect no repayment, it is a monument to our self-restraint as a people that we don't take up any real or improvised arms against them and their high-rise offices. They are clearly out of touch with reality and need a reality check. I think these big investment firms should be made to sink or swim by their own devices. THAT'S THE CAPITALIST WAY. The economic model they supposedly believed in, but apparently don't anymore. And if we the people suffer indirectly by their extinction, hey, that's the economic system we have chosen to live under. Life won't stay bad forever. We'll eventually get back on our feet. But all these efforts over the past year to prop up the badly-faltering economy are just going to make the inevitable economic crash all that much worse. Sorry for the length OP. I guess this subject pressed a bigger button in me than I thought. |
