Can you see Russia across the sea from Alaska?

I was out on an island in Alaska, and I couldn't see it.

Actually, the answer is yes and no. From the mainland, there is no way to see Russia from Alaska. The distance is too great.

However, there are two islands in the Bering Staight - Big Diomede and Little Diomede. The big island is Russian and the small one American. They are 1.5 miles from each other. Interestingly, the International Date Line separates the two, so there is a time difference of 23 hours between the two.

I can't watch it all again. It's too painful. Maybe, it's because I'm a woman and her responses are so humiliating to me. I cringe to think that anyone could give answers like that on national TV and think she's given acceptable answers. She seems to have the mentality of a ten yr. old, and I'm not kidding.

I'm a dude and I can't watch her. I have to look down when she talks. I can see on her face she's not directing a feint to lower expectations or whatever conservatives are claiming. This is really her! Which is fine for "american joe six pack", I'm fine with us being morons, but geez, not a damn VP. It's scary that people would actually consider voting for the ticket. Masochists.
