Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 521150 United States 10/08/2008 11:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Shoulda just sucked it up and paid the fine. Then you dont have to worry about the court crap. You sped. You got caught. Pay up or show up. You did neither. Pretty smart. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78392its a long trip, I showed up the first time. But I spent all my money on gas going there and back. I couldnt afford a third trip, because I spent money on the second trip to get the rest of my belongings, had I paid the fine the first time, I would not have been able to afford gas to go the second time to get my belongings. |

It catches up with you. Excuses don't pay fines nor get your license back. You can pay a fine in installments, but the license won't get returned till the fines are ALL paid. Failure to appear. Hard for me to believe anyone does that. It always makes things worse. btw Continuing to drive on a suspended license will make things a lot worse. Pay your fines before you buy beer, go to a movie, pay for cable or pay for an internet connection. Those fines can also accumulate penalties and interest. |

As for you could not afford to go back a 3rd time, sorry to say you could have called the court clerk and explained that and they would (should) have put you on a payment plan or extended your due date. As many have stated, your going to need to clear that NC charge up, call the court clerk in NC and beg and plead, you may get lucky. |

User ID: 521121 United States 10/09/2008 01:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i guess none of you have heard of "reciprosity".....a suspension, or revocation in any state carries to your home state.... it doesnt matter which state your license is issued by.... it was tacked onto a FDOT omnibus bill in the late 80s..... if the state accepts FDOT money, they have to comply with the regs.... it was the same bill that implemented the "CDL", and standardized criteria for issuance of CDLs..... face it pal, you're pretty much just plain fucked....shoulda took a bus instead of driving to court.....get some comfy shoes, you'll be walking until the fine is paid, and NC decides it's ok to lift the revocation.... dumb ass..... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 368888 United States 10/09/2008 01:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It was accepted and the court gave me a $145 fine. I drive home. I failed to pay the fine, now I have a bench warrant. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5211502 weeks later I go back to North Carolina to get some more belongs of mine. I was pulled over and the cop said I was driving on a revoked license, that the license was revoked on July 11th by the DMV. He gives me a ticket even though I have a valid Arkansas license, but lets me go. Court date set for September 30th. I failed to show, now I have another bench warrant. (its a 1900 mile round trip) Was NC DMV required to notify me of the revocation since I was not found guilty of going over 15mph in a 55mph zone? (with the court and dmv knowing I moved out of state) 1. mail a check to the court house along with paperwork of your original fine and your first bench warrant. 2. best bet would to get a lawyer, or stay out of that state. You should pay the fine since you agreed to the plea. 3. you will still have the issue of the second warrant. good luck. |
