More than likely, people's memories have mixed up 3rd Monday holidays with 4th Thursday Thanksgiving

If Thanksgiving was 3rd Thursday

1956 it would be November 15th
1972 it would be November 16th
1979 It would be November 15th
2000 it would be November 16th

While you may argue, you remember it being 3rd November, does anyone remember Thanksgiving hovering around the 15th?

If not then there is nothing to see here and move along.

And what you are not getting is, that if it was on the 3rd... and reality shifted to make it on the 4th now... well, other events would shift as well, such as your football games. And while it may comfort you to believe we have the 3rd Mondays mixed up with Thursdays... well, I know that's not the case... but if you choose to believe that reality... be my guest.

Until today, when someone would ask me what day Thanksgiving falls upon, I always replied "The third Thursday of November."

I was as sure of this as I am that Monday comes after Sunday. However, it was pointed out today that Thanksgiving is on the 4th Thursday of November. I was literally floored by this news.

To make matters more confusing, 2 other people in my office also believed that it fell on the 3rd Thursday...

I think something changed... our reality... ever so slightly morphed into the one we are currently in... and only some of us remember the old.

Does anybody here remember the old? Do you remember the 3rd Thursday as well?

I am not kidding. When I was a kid I saw a car vanish but it's sound still drove past me.
Silly things, like looking for a pen and you have one in your hand, yet you were just looking through a drawer and at both your hands while looking.

Honestly, I don't know. I never gave much thought to the exact date of Thanksgiving. It was always "on the 3rd Thursday" in my mind. I recall that some years it did arrive very early. In fact, my Grandmother commented on it not too long ago. It seems like there were 2 weeks left in November after Thanksgiving passed and that made her comment on how early it arrived.

So, perhaps it did fall on the 15th or 16th as you suggest.

But then again... the actual dates do not stick in my head for Thanksgiving.

What if this post is all a trick designed to cast spells on people? Hypothetically speaking because I don't know.

But when I see this line.

It was during page 4, an AC was talking about this same experience of time-shifing, but it was a shared incident between her and 3 others.

Now, I have another experience to share, that maybe some others experience when these shifts happen. It's hard to explain, so bare with me. I have been experiencing this for a couple years, (even though my time-shift experiences date back further). This experience is physical. I can be standing, sitting, driving, whatever, when all of a sudden it feels as if the whole world around me jumped a several feet away, but I was still in the same place. I would not become disoriented nor unbalanced. In a matter of just a couple of seconds I would feel as if my physical body then jumped to catch up with it, as if I was being sucked towards the direction everything went when I was left back. That jump that I physically feel is always to the left, as if the suction pulled on the left side of my body, no matter what direction I was facing. But again, to reiterate, this is not a feeling of losing my balance, but as if I was taken from one place to another several feet away, yet my body never actually moves. I know that sounds outlandish, if even intelligible, but it's the best I can get to words.
