The people want to smoke weed to escape the bullshit of daily life. It seems to be a reset substance for the psyche-clearing out minor stress of job and environment. I agree the weed needs to be free, but my suspicion is that high level govt. insiders and the mafia want it illegal so all they have to do is get violent to have a nice living till they die and go to Hell. |

Quoting: Crazy! 543651November 4, 2008 (LPAC)--Yesterday 58 people were killed in violence related to the drug trade, making November third the bloodiest day for the drug cartels in Mexico so far this year. The commander of the state police of Sonora, ambushed in the border city of Nogales, and the commander of the federal police force in the State of Mexico were both executed. The latter's execution raised the number of municipal and state police killed to twelve since October 30 alone. With top anti-drug officials being gunned down with impunity in Mexico City itself, using their standard offer of "lead or silver," the cartels infiltrated the heart of the national anti-drug forces. Last week, the #2 and #3 officials in the Attorney General's special anti-crime investigative unit, the SIEDO, were charged with passing intelligence onto the Sinoloa cartel, in return for nearly a half million dollars a month each. Some 30 officials and agents were caught in the operation to clean out this nest -- which included cartel infiltration of the U.S. Embassy's anti-drug unit. ... ... Soros's legalization drive advanced last week in Mexico, even as top corrupted officials were being rounded up. Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) Senator Rene Arce Islas stepped up to do Soros's dirty work, and on October 30th, introduced a bill that would legalize the planting, sale, export, and consumption of marijuana throughout the country, as long as it was done by "drug addicts"! ... ...
